FS: STI JDM short throw shifter
 

Selling practically brand-new short throw shifter. Made the mistake of ordering one for my 2018 Toyota 86 but didn't realize these come stock with the short shifter already installed. Took the stock one out and compared to the STI part and they are identical. My loss is your gain! $250 local pickup preferred near Norwalk, CA 90650. Can ship at buyers expense.

Correct me if I am wrong but they are not the same. They have different part numbers and are an option when you build your 2018 Subaru online.

Well when I removed my stock shifter and compared to the STI, everything was identical, length, angle everything! Even metal machining and composition looks the same. I verified after installing STI part that nothing changed from original feel and shift throw, hence my conclusion they are same parts. Maybe Toyota include them from factory, different from what Subaru does.

the jdm sti/TRD shift lever are the same, Toyota just stamps their part number over the Subaru P/N, buy a 86 part from toyota and peel off the sticker its the subaru one under it.

Just to clarify because I would be interested if it would fit my 2016: isn't the short throw shifter for the 2017-18 model a different part than the STI short throw shifter for the 2013-16 models? I show this as the part that fits the 2013-16:
