What is a heavy or light wheel?
I'm going to make some color-coded graphics for the wheel directory and I want to have a green (light), yellow (average) and red (heavy) graphic for each wheel.
Can you guys debate and agree on some ballpark numbers for each wheel size (16-19") that would define what a light, average or heavy wheel would be? |
This is a great idea:D
I would think majority of wheels should be compared to the stock 17's weight (20lbs i think?) |
I've listed what I'd consider to be average weights. Anything under or over these ranges would obviously be light and heavy, respectively.
16x7 14-18lb 16x8 15-19lb 17x7 16-20lb 17x8 17-21lb 17x9 18-22lb 18x7 18-22lb 18x8 19-23lb 18x9 20-24lb 19x ... Who cares, they are all heavy. |

That is helpful, coyote... anyone care to argue? If not, I will go with it.
|
I would say go with what coyote said. With medium being +\- 2 lbs of stock wheel weight.
|
I like Coyotes breakdown.

Thanks guys, I have added Coyote's info to the main Wheel Directory 1st post.

My post was just a quick one to get debate started. I was certainly not expecting to have it included at the top of your excellent thread. Thank you very much. (Perhaps I should have gone easier on the 19" wheel lovers?) |
Agreed. Big thanks to Darren for making me want to spend so much money on several sets of shoes for my car.
Seriously though, that takes a lot of time to gather and post the information in such an organized manner. :thanks: :happy0180: |
coyote & jinrawke, I appreciate your sentiments. It is a LOT of work to put this stuff together and your quick and helpful input makes my life a little easier. :)
Nah, those 19" guys deserve it. :) |
