2017 TRD catback for sale, used less than 1 week

3 Attachment(s)
I have a 2017 TRD catback exhaust that I used for less than 1 week and approximately less than 100 miles (I don't commute to work) for sale.

It'll fit 2017 model 86/BRZ, as far as I know it will not fit earlier model years but you can do your homework and get back to me.

Purchased new, first owner, and reason for selling is that I did not like the sound.

800 USD OBO

Please pick up from Minnesota USA or contact me for shipping options.

So this TRD Exhaust is only for the 2017 model? I am interested but only have a 2013.

What changes did TRD make to their product that made it specific for the 2017s?

Basically, OEM design tweak to 2017 exhaust from factory, compared to 12-16. This means stuff for 2017 exhaust will likely not fit 12-16 years unless you chop it up and reweld.

TL;DR go buy a 2012-16 catback

Editing b/c I have been corrected: Only Axleback 12-16 dont fit 17+

-Thanks for the correction.

If its a full catback it will fit fine on a previous year. The issue people run into is trying to run a 12-16 axleback on the newer 2017+ models.

I installed what I believe is a 12-16 TRD catback on my 2017 BRZ. Fit perfect, I would imagine it goes both ways.

Other way around, It's too loud for my sensitive ears!

I had my friend ride along with me and I did not bring up the exhaust sound issue I was having, and he did not mention any loudness at all. When I brought it up to him, he said it wasn't loud. So I guess I have sensitive ears.

It sounds incredible from the outside, it's just inside the car I did not like how it sounded, hence sitting in a box right now waiting to get picked up.

Thanks for this pointer. I don't know much about the older models.

Did you get rid of the sound tube/generator?

Sc629 05-02-2018 03:46 AM

They also say it quiets down after a week or so due to build up

I took out the plug from the glovebox and plugged the hole under the passenger footwell with it and that eliminated the sound tube.

It did improve things but overall, I am honestly among the very small minority that loves sound tube, and I did not like the thought of plugging it.

I don't know about that... maybe a tad but overall the sound should be the same. A lot of people dismiss this point as being a myth just for the record.

I mean, my stock exhaust sure didn't change its sound from the day I got the car and now on over 2000 miles.
