Woot woot! TanMan posted about an order that someone backed out at Subaru Superstore in Chandler, AZ.

I called up and put down my deposit on the Lightening Red Limited BRZ 6MT! I owe TanMan a beer. :happy0180:

I am getting the car shipped out to me here in San Diego after we finalize financing and the papers being signed.

Happy I am paying MSRP. And hopefully within the week I'll be racing around with those of you lucky enough to own one already.

As soon as I get pictures from my salesperson I'll post them!

Hey now,

Corrections: TanMan turned down the dealership's offer because the person in front of him backed out (not TanMan!) on this all too wonderful Lightning Red Limited.

TanMan still waiting faithfully for his WRB Limited 6MT on order! :happyanim:

Now, about that beer you were talking about..... :happy0180: hehe

Congrats! Are you planning on shipping your car enclosed? I'm in the process of doing the same and I'm trying to figure out if shipping it enclosed is worth the 50% increase in price. It's going to be from IN to CA.

When you say enclosed, do you mean to have the box car enclosed? If so thats funny because my company manufactures the wire mesh that is used for that. They dip the mesh in thick plastic/rubber coating, when combined its almost indestructible for thieves to break in. This is a major cost for automotive companies when shipping new cars, thieves will ride the rails for days just ripping out every piece that they can resell. I'd be really happy to know that our product is protecting such a beautiful car!

I'm referring to the trailer that's enclosed like you see for transporting higher end cars. The cheaper alternative would be to just ship it on a regular transport trailer that you see most new cars shipped on (but they're usually wrapped up). My only concern is that it's a 7-10 day ordeal and having a brand new car (that's not wrapped) exposed to all the elements can be damaging to the car. But the price difference is huge.

OK duh, yea that makes sense to be on a truck, not a train. Guess I was secretly hoping I had something to do with the protection of BRZ's haha. I can see your struggle on making this decision, I guess the only thing I would contribute is that its already been on a truck to get to the first dealer. So the car has already been exposed to the elements.

Tanman posts about it. My order at power Subaru will be available when I back out of it in a couple days. Should be here in September or October. Red limited 6mt.

It's only 300 miles so I figure it will be safe.
