The dealership says its the tariff
Howdy, everyone! A question for those that may be in the know. I ordered my brz in january and was told it would be here last week. Several confirmation emails from subaru also. The dealership is now telling me that they cant say when ill be able to get the car. They claim that the trump tariff thing has caused it to be on lock-down. Thats plausible. The real question is, is it true? It could just be a coincidence, but, if i go to the subaru site to check out what this months finance deals are, it never loads that page. Anyone have any clue as to what is really going on here? Im located in michigan, if that makes a difference.

Not likely.

That doesnt sound legit to you? Can you try going to the subaru site and seeing if you can access the finance deals page, please? Im wondering if its my area that is the problem. Ive tried from several computers on different networks, all with the same results.

I just tried again, and all i get are the various vehicles on the left side, and on the right side is a spinning wheel going counterclockwise.

1) Will tell you anything to get you to buy from them and not go somewhere else; and 2) Don't know anything you can't find out yourself with a quick phone call or email Go to another dealership if they can't give you concrete answers soon... |
There could be delays of countless unknown factors who knows. Many will never tell you. Could be as simple as they missed the boat, or they simply forgot to put the order in. Or could be some dark shit or your possibly right about trump. Who knows. All could be true all could be bullshit.

Ok, I just went to the subaru site. It still wont load any of the monthly incentives. Went to "contact us" and it wont go to the email or phone number. If i try to put in my zip code it says, "Error while processing /content/subaru/en/retailers/find-retailer". What gives? Like i said before, Ive tried it on several computers on several different networks over the past couple days. I found the phone number and email address at the bottom of the page on the mysubaru site. To help clarify, I received an email saying it was being loaded on a boat and also had the VIN. About two weeks later i received one saying it was now being loaded on a train. Then on the 20th of march I received one saying it was at the local distribution center. It was due at the dealership on the 26th, then 28th,30th and now the 4th of april. Ill email Subaru directly tonight and call tomorrow. Oh, and one more clarification, it was the dealership that said it was the trump tariff thing.

Edit, just looked at timestamps. You might not have seen the post before you started yours. Good luck. |
Ok, Heres what ive found out. Subaru said, yes, the tariff thing is holding up the import deliveries, however only for a "short time" on each vehicle. My car was already out of their system, which means that the dealership had already taken ownership of it. A couple hours later the dealership called to say it would be ready for pick up on thursday. Im writing it off to happy coincidence. Im still having trouble with the website though. Its kinda hard to wrap my head around the fact that im going to be the owner of a brz tomorrow!:happyanim:
