The Perrin shift bushing will change shift feel. The rest will change the way the drivetrain handles the torque in acceleration and braking.
I'd be more curious of NVH with all that in there, especially on a commuter. If anything, this thread has convinced I don't need a shifter. I'm just gonna start with a Perrin bushing and go from there.
I am replacing clutch soon, TOB bombed and I'm waiting on parts to arrive. Was thinking, while this transmission it out, I might want a short shifter. Umm, not the IRP or CAE. CAE is too much clearancing for me, it's a daily. The IRP, rattle prone and made of aluminum. I don't want another cold shifter handle, I already have one in my jeep.
Good discussion for the most part, really helpful in making the decision. I'm sticking to stock with the Perrin bushing for now and maybe I'll order a new shift knob. Definitely not wasting any more time looking for one of these. I'll save that for later, if ever.
14 FRS, since 7 miles. Humfrz is right, no need, just racer boy stuff. I like the CAE, but the fitment to stock a compromise.
