Please let it get some power to the correct wheels! Really hoping this ends up being rear biased AWD like the Yaris. I’m skeptical of the 300hp 3cyl, but it isn’t a huge leap from the Yaris’ output.

All joking aside I hope NA doesn’t get shafted on this one and we get the rest of the world’s version. With the demise of the focus RS and the GLA45 being stupid expensive, the Golf R is kinda lonely in its segment.

Regardless what the rest of the world gets, we will get a neutered version of it. The possibility of getting a AWD, 250hp+ turbo hatch corolla is more slim than a new version of a Bugatti. I'm strong assumption is it will be front wheel drive only if we get the turbo motor. It we get AWD, it will be only automatic. Something to cater to the normal consumer and not enthusiast.

But it has GR right in the name! It must be a race car.

even mexico is getting the gr yaris lol.. I think Toyota will give us something decent, I mean how long has it been since they originally touted having 3 dedicated sports cars.. I know it is a bit of a stretch to call the GR Yaris and potential GR Corolla "sports cars" but they are gonna be the closest thing to what Akio has been clamoring about for years and rumors like a new Celica/MR2 are definitely not happening..

Works for the new 86 I guess! It is already the best engine ever built and a vastly superiors car over since it has GR in the name.
