I'm not too far from Shannonville. A few of the locals are planning a backroads run this weekend (MMM...twisties). If It doesn't happen Saturday, I'd be up for a cruise to the track.

oh dang, im cruising in from Markham, almost 2hr drive for me

roddy 07-25-2012 07:56 AM

What time are you planning to be there?

driver01 07-25-2012 10:14 AM

Touge is hosting at shannonville. Starting at 1800, untill sundown

^ I'm interested.

How can I sign up & where is a good place to purchase a helmet?

Also... does Touge allow first time trackers?

The only two places I can think of for a Snell SA rated helmet are:

CSC Racing, Newmarket
JRP, Mississauga

Otherwise, any motorcycle shop will sell you an M rated one, which are usually less expensive than the SAs. Whatever you do though (if you want my opinion) spend the extra money to make sure that it's Snell rated, and not just DOT approved.

Thanks! - JRP is right near me.

you dont need a helmet unless you have a convertable. Its entirely up to you.
PM your phone numbers so i can add you to the touge group on whatzapp, or i can just give you info

funcheung 07-25-2012 07:43 PM

or just PM your numbers anyway so we can start a grp LOL

I live in Toronto, Shannonville is 2 hours away as well, I am used to the drive. I have tracked my FR-S 5 times since I got it. Before that I used to track my Integra Type R
As far as Touge hostin goes, anybody can run at the track (noobs, advance, etc). Helmets are not mandatory unless you have a convertible, however it is a good idea to use them.
If it is your first time, I recommend to find somebody with experience and who knows the track layout to drive you around and show you the track. If anybody is going there needs it, ill be happy to drive you around the track and give you some pointers.

I'll try to be there. I'm not sure yet if a bunch of us locals are going backroading Saturday or Sunday. I won't plan on tracking the car this time, but it would be nice to meet some folks from the forum.
