Years 2012/2013 could be exiting for FR JDM sports cars
With the FT-86/216a aiming for a 2012 release, rumors of a possible RX-7 reincarnation with a rotary turbo, possible refresh to the Genesis Coupe... I'm a car guy at heart, so it is great to see a lot of companies getting off their butts and coming out with some exciting cars. :party0030:

exciting...woo
|
I think if Toyota can get this car to market as has been rumored, it will force others to respond. Competition is a good thing.
|
yes it is Tranzformer. yes it is.
|
Genesis isn't JDM lol, but yea this is good, hopefully Nissan/Honda(no beaks, no boxy american styling please) throw something in to spice up the market.

Yeah the info I have heard about the Elite sounds very promising, even if it is going to be a heavy car.
|
a new turboed Rotary would be the only thing stopping me from getting the ft86
|
Pet peeve: JDM useage. JDM means Japanese Domestic Market. Not made in Japan.
It means all the cool stuff that they DON'T export. You cannot officially buy NEW JDM products outside of Japan. My car is JDM. Yours probably aren't. [/rant] |
Rotary beast.. Oh.. Mmm~~~ Its so... beautiful~~
|
link info for new Rx7 please
|
If its up to me I want those back:
Silvia, RX7, Starlet, Supra, and a less expensive skyline gt-t (say with an RB30DET or a VQ30DET, and rwd to make it afordable) |

**snickers cause all his cars have been JDM too** |
Honda is not dead yet! As long as they have a car racing in super gt there is hope

How about a fun car for the masses? All they have is the new Si and it is a bit bland imo. |

 It's funny to see JDM become such a household phrase. Back when the JDM craze hit, it was indeed that, trying to get rare parts only exclusive to Japan. My Toyota truck is JDM... Just Driving to the Mountains! :bellyroll: Quote:
Honda is dead for 4 wheels but not for 2. ;) |

Oops...wait, put JDM part on my USM car....guess I'm a ricer. |

Re-do the MR2. Use FT-86 engine. FI optional. Keep MR-S weight (or less).

but: since the r1's crossplane crank s1000rr's power and complete package new zx10r's power etc the fireblade has been falling behind in reviews i hear, be nice to see them getting a production bike leading the technology field like they are doing in motogp http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=23536 could be interesting though - its a shame theres no RWD effort from them :( |

Your hometown hero is currently 4th on the points board on the Castrol Honda. He also set the quickest lap during practice @ Monza. As expected the four-cylinder machines were up at the front in the first free practice session at Monza. Quickest time went to Jonathan Rea (Castrol Honda) ahead of two BMWs, the Motorrad Motorsports version of Troy Corser and then Ayrton Badovini for Motorrad Italia SBK http://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/5-ne...st-in-fp1.html |

And since it wasn't obvious, I'm pretty cynical that we will see a big revival in sports cars. If anything the FT-86 is just a blip of a small back lash of sporty cars. Heck it was only a couple years back people thought the Muscle car era was going to come back. Now gas is close or at $4 a gallon in the USA and the economy is still down. I don't feel too hopeful for sports cars coming back either. |

My intercooler (from Titan) is bigger and better than any Supra-specific HKS unit, for less money. No Greddy aluminum driveshaft available for my car, so go USA. But my wheels are from Japan and they kick serious ass, but I bought them used. New they were like $900 EACH! |
