Timeframe! When do you plan to purchase?
It's not out yet!
But Just to generate some activity, and because of curiosity, When do you plan to purchase your Scion FR-S/Toyota FT-86/Subaru? |
Subaru, if it's a Scion.
Edit: Wait, I have to see what the Subaru looks like and the feature in the car first. If it doesn't meet my expectation, I will just look for other car. |
Don't know yet as I don't know specs or pricing info. My current car is still going strong so I am in no rush. If this comes out as Scion I will most likely lean towards Subaru if all else is equal. Too early to tell at this point.
|
MMC? i don't follow you on that one...
|
There should be an ASAP option in that poll. Basically, whenever I can save up enough for a downpayment to keep my monthly payments at around $300...thats looking like ~$7-8k atm, off my estimated APR, and using a likely $25k purchase price after a few goodies are installed.
stickin' to a budget. |
MMC is ... Mid Model Change you know like two years after release.... and OldSkool your right! lol I should of put that, get an admin to add that later.
|
Gonna order mine as soon as that is possible to do so. IF the car does not cost too much and IF I have enough of a down that I feel I can comfortable buy the car. Otherwise I may wait. Of course I will want to test drive it first.
|
Definitely picking it up used as soon as i can. About to start college, can't afford a new car, and i am going to struggle justifying picking it up secondhand. If i was n a better situation though, i would buy it before they could get it to me
|
hopefully they release all the variants at the same time. that would make it easier. if its 180hp, then i will be waiting a long time...

Seeing a Scion badge definitely put things on the backburner. Curious to see the Subaru varient will look like or if it will even be available in the US. |
Because there aren't really any other cars like this coming out, I think this will be what I'm going to get but I'll be waiting sometime since I don't exactly have money and I want to see how it turns out. If it's a little disappointing then maybe the refresh will be better. Probably will buy used unless some very good fortune comes my way :D

We have to see first. I really hope that Subaru brings its own version to the states, it will be a big hit. I know if I say this, I might get flamed, but I'm also looking to forward to Mazda RX-7 revival. They have been developing new Rotary for years now, I don't think they abandon the project. I'm going to get a new car in late 2012 or early 2013, so there will probably be a few other alternatives. |

LOL I don't buy lottery tickets...
God has many ways of bringing fortune though :D (I'm an atheist for the record) |
1-2 years after the fact because I'll wait for the bugs to get worked out. It's also possible by then there will be better cars out there. :]
|
The guys over at the local Scion dealership are going to be sick of me calling every week seeing if I can put in a pre-order :bellyroll:

I have enough money to pay up 25k upfront atm, but its a Scion and of course subaru hasn't released theirs yet. :> Quote:
plus if the RX-7 revival gets made into the same price range... OooOo.... I might look into that bad boy instead. ;) |

I hope your right ! I love another Rx especially if it's fuel efficient |
Now I'm gonna need to make a "FR-S vs. Revival RX-7, end all be all" thread. Again, you guys are talking about apples and oranges. Its essentially the same argument of the FR-S vs. 370Z
I would not expect the new RX-7 to START any less than $35k. You're talking about Mazda's legendary flagship sports car. It's gonna be B.A., its gonna be fast, its gonna be....spendy! Especially depending on how they market it. Highly unlikely they'll go near supercar status with it like Nissan did to their GT-R marque, but its possible. If not, its gonna be in the 370Z range of sports cars. It would be silly of them to purposefully detune such a historic model to fit in with the FR-S, since they already have a car in that area....the Miata. The main reason I wanna see an RX-7 revival is because it would further push Toyota to answer with a Supra successor. Mekekekekeke.... |

Voted MMC. If something like the RX-7 were confirmed, I'd probably hold off even further. $25k buys a lot of fun in a Miata, too. So the FR-S would really have to impress.
|
As long as the four wheels on my car keep spinning, I don't plan on getting rid of it. I might get a MMC and keep my current car since the insurance can be less for two cars than one. I plan on driving my current car for another 2 years, but if it dies on me early, then I might get the 1st model year Scion.
|
I will probably pick one up about a year or two after it comes out, depending on if there is improvements to w8 for a newer model ill end up w8ing for that. Mostly depends on my financial status at the given time.
|
Im thinkin within 3 months

I wouldn't necessary put the FRS vs the RX-7Revival in the same bowl but.. it'll be another car to look at if it does come out. Hell.. what if it was 28-30k?! o_O It doesn't necessarily rival the FR-S but it gives it a another thing to look at. :) |

If RX-7 is about 30K-ish, it will be "MUST SEE" car. |
