1-2 years after the fact because I'll wait for the bugs to get worked out. It's also possible by then there will be better cars out there. :]

The guys over at the local Scion dealership are going to be sick of me calling every week seeing if I can put in a pre-order :bellyroll:

Edit: Wait, I have to see what the Subaru looks like and the feature in the car first. If it doesn't meet my expectation, I will just look for other car.

I have enough money to pay up 25k upfront atm, but its a Scion and of course subaru hasn't released theirs yet. :>

We have to see first. I really hope that Subaru brings its own version to the states, it will be a big hit.
I know if I say this, I might get flamed, but I'm also looking to forward to Mazda RX-7 revival. They have been developing new Rotary for years now, I don't think they abandon the project. I'm going to get a new car in late 2012 or early 2013, so there will probably be a few other alternatives.

^^^^ Omg if it does.. I'll probably look into that more. O_O I LOVE the sound of a rotary engine.. its an eargasm~~

plus if the RX-7 revival gets made into the same price range... OooOo.... I might look into that bad boy instead. ;)

I hope your right ! I love another Rx especially if it's fuel efficient

Now I'm gonna need to make a "FR-S vs. Revival RX-7, end all be all" thread. Again, you guys are talking about apples and oranges. Its essentially the same argument of the FR-S vs. 370Z

I would not expect the new RX-7 to START any less than $35k. You're talking about Mazda's legendary flagship sports car. It's gonna be B.A., its gonna be fast, its gonna be....spendy! Especially depending on how they market it. Highly unlikely they'll go near supercar status with it like Nissan did to their GT-R marque, but its possible. If not, its gonna be in the 370Z range of sports cars.

It would be silly of them to purposefully detune such a historic model to fit in with the FR-S, since they already have a car in that area....the Miata.

The main reason I wanna see an RX-7 revival is because it would further push Toyota to answer with a Supra successor. Mekekekekeke....

I hope so too! A true RX-7 (3 door, turbo) revival would be something else. Actually, it would be nice to see some of the 90's cars revived. Hopefully Nissan will revive something using the Juke DIG-T engine.

Voted MMC. If something like the RX-7 were confirmed, I'd probably hold off even further. $25k buys a lot of fun in a Miata, too. So the FR-S would really have to impress.

iff2mastamatt 05-09-2011 08:33 PM

As long as the four wheels on my car keep spinning, I don't plan on getting rid of it. I might get a MMC and keep my current car since the insurance can be less for two cars than one. I plan on driving my current car for another 2 years, but if it dies on me early, then I might get the 1st model year Scion.

I will probably pick one up about a year or two after it comes out, depending on if there is improvements to w8 for a newer model ill end up w8ing for that. Mostly depends on my financial status at the given time.

Don't break my hope of seeing a damn sexy rotary beast! Lol.

I wouldn't necessary put the FRS vs the RX-7Revival in the same bowl but.. it'll be another car to look at if it does come out. Hell.. what if it was 28-30k?! o_O It doesn't necessarily rival the FR-S but it gives it a another thing to look at. :)

Who knows? Maybe they decide that the car doesn't need turbo for the base model. They want it to be more efficient, compact and fun-to-drive. I would be pleased if they drop new design rotary in Miata, and revive the RX-7.

If RX-7 is about 30K-ish, it will be "MUST SEE" car.

Absolutely. I think if the FR-S is successful in "TODAY" market, Nissan will counter with the new Silvia.
