A highly recommended course for those of you who want low risk but high fun environment to take your car to the limits without being on a track.

I've attended it before and reviewed them highly in my advanced driving schools thread.

HIGHLY suggest you sign up in person at JRP. They will sell out in minutes.

Cheers.

Kev

Samosa's will be amazing as usual.

As a student and volunteer of this clinic, it's incredibly fun and affordable without any big car prep needed.

I believe we're also deploying an online registration system for ADC so hopefully that helps out the guys that can't make their way to JRP. But then again, who can say no to picking up a few goodies at JRP? :)

The samosas are hands down the best in Toronto. Period.

I've also received some questions asking about why this school would be applicable to them as opposed to a track school.

My answer: apples vs oranges.

As per my review, this school is done in a large parking lot and not on a track. Track will typically involve higher speeds but that doesn't mean the SPDA ADC is for 'noobs'.

FAR. FROM. IT.

The SPDA ADC does different exercises but in the end the goal is the same. Vision, seating position, how you feel out the car is still the same but the ADC does it in a smaller more intimate and slower environment. I would still recommend this course for newbies or anyone else for that matter. Run by fantastic folks and people from all other schools.

Heck I'd volunteer but I'm teaching that weekend :(

Online registration will open at noon, an hour after in person registration opens. It'll only open if it doesn't sell out in person by noon though, so no guarantees you can register online.

To be completely honest, online registration is somewhat pointless since it sells out in the first 15 minutes or however long it takes to actually register all the folks. I see the need but it gets false hopes up given how hot this sells.

Yep. Last year I was there like 30 or 40 minutes before registration opened, and had JUST made the cutoff to not end up on the wait list.

Highly recommend being there early if you're looking to sign up

This is the JRP open house as well?

wparsons 04-06-2018 10:32 AM

Yes. It's the open house for regional auto x and OTA (Ontario time attack) as well.

mabviper 04-07-2018 10:48 AM

Reminder! Open house is today :D Be there to register and buy some stuff, lol.

How does the SPDA Toyo tire program work? I pay the membership of $40/yr and I get 40% off? Only eligible at certain dealers and predetermined price?

OTA also has a Toyo tire program, but you must be a competitor to qualify?

See the members only section on the SPDA forums for more details.

OTA isn't directly offering discounted pricing, but because Toyo is a series sponsor and their currently available R compounds (R888R or RA1) test at about the same lap times as an RE71R they've been classified as street tires instead of R compounds.
