Grinding Noise When Turning Left
Hi guys, recently I installed a JDL EL Header and JDL Overpipe and when I make left turns (Not hard /hard) I hear a rubbing/grinding sound.
It never happened before the installation. I tried looking underneath on leveled ground; specifically at the brakes and axle joints, but I don't see anything that warrants any worry. I'll plan on bringing my car to my friends shop where he has a lift and see what's up, but if anyone knows what's going on then that'll be nice. Thank you Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
It's good to note that at the same time I changed out my Edelbrock SC pulley to 3.00" and also did bigger fuel injectors with a new Delicious Tune.
The grinding/rubbing noise only occurs on left turns when I'm moving. When I'm stationary or less than 5mph it's not rubbing at all. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
I have the same issue. I only have a Borla catback exhaust, everything else is stock.
The sound has gotten worse over time and is especially bad when I turn at a higher rate of speed. It is only when I turn left though. I looked at the CV joints and brakes but didn't find anything either. I would love to find out what this is, it drives me crazy. |
I'll guess that it's a bad front wheel bearing ......:iono:

I wonder if maybe one of the bottom skid plates isn't hitting something. They have to be removed to do the header and OP. When you turn, the caster of the wheel will slightly change your ride height on one side and change the camber too. All that geometry change may be enough to make contact somewhere. Cut the wheel hard and get under the car and poke around

Another Bump. Experienced a similar issue during an intro HPDE Event while turning left
