That's how I ended up in a 860.
They actually offered private sale value for my FR-S and took out enough out of the MSRP to make it interesting.

The Dodge dealer regularly needs to by my truck to avoid a nation wide shortage.

Yep, they are trolling (fishing trolling), you snapped up the bait ...... they are reeling you in ....... they will set the hook shortly after you enter the showroom floor. CAUTION: You might get filleted ...... :iono:

Enjoy that new car .......

I actually played along last year and test drove a new one. My car has some mods so the new one felt sluggish. Nicer than mine but tied to the proverbial tree.

So my cars at Toyota right now that has anybody gotten the 60,000 mile tune up yet they're trying to charge me like six hundred bucks for 4 spark plugs is that accurate? Also an oil change. But they did give me a free loaner car.

2017 86, I really like the 18 inch wheels but it's an automatic. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f59f87fa92.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bb83913681.jpg

Yes, that's correct. The reason it costs so much is that the plugs are on the underside of the engine in a position that is difficult to access. The official procedure for changing the plugs is 16 pages long on paper and involves pulling the exhaust apart in two places, disconnecting the engine from the engine mounts and lifting the engine four inches using a special hoist that mounts on the shock towers, then raising the car with the engine hoist attached and replacing the plugs from underneath. It's complicated enough that even many of us who have the tools and technical ability to do it are willing to pay the $600 to have a dealer tech do it instead. People have found ways to do it without raising the engine, but they all seem to involve having tiny Japanese child hands or using an unwieldy combination of extensions and wobble joints that seem to me to just be begging for cross-threaded spark plug holes.

You're in my neck of the woods audio. And yes, the service fro plugs sucks. There is a guy on here that drilled holes in the chassis to access the plugs without having to do that. But it is a racecar.

The only time Toyota will want your car is if you go to the media saying it accelerated on its own OR if you hit the million mile mark both scenarios involve them taking the car apart (one to prove they're innocent and the other to see what they did right- ultimately for public relations).

The tubes would have to be big enough to to make room for the igniters for it to be worthwhile. I'm not excited about the project.

Spark plugs are heavy, Toyobaru had to put them on the underside to keep the center of gravity low.

Clearly, you are too old for this project......:iono:

Looking for another project manager...... who will apply ...??

The concept is that a series of holes and tubes are made through whatever in the side of the car, to allow direct access and replacement of the COPs and spark plugs. The CF scoops can be removed to access the tubes, thus the COPs and spark plugs.

The access doors (scoops) on the outside, also act as scoops to scoop up outside air and direct the air through the tubes to the COPs to help keep them cooler.

We need a donor car, a hole saw (with extension), some PVC tubing and someone to order four of these CF scoops.

Who will step up to be project manager ??...... :thanks:

(I cannot because I will be busy at the patent office and negotiating with Toyota and Subaru for patent rights.)

(venture capital investors will be welcome soon)

(investors - an IPO will come soon ..... so notify your brokers)
