Car won't move while in gear after open flash stage 1 tune.

This may be an easy fix but i'm having trouble with tuning. Stage one tune and original tune loads up to the ECU great. The only problem I have is when I get ready to drive, the car doesn't go anywhere. Like the tires are locked or something. I let the car idle for the 45 secs after flashing. And I have done this before to another car, different tablet, but had zero problems driving after flashing. How do I fix this?? Any advice would help, thanks!

Take the parking brake off.

1. Does the car sound funny or messed up at idle?
2. If not, does the engine rev when you press the throttle?
3. If so has it been still for a few days? Possibly after having wet brakes?
4. If the car is on flat ground, does it roll in neutral with the parking brake off? Don't do this on a hill.
5. Have you done any work to the car recently?

Fyi, none of these are troubleshooting the ECU. The ecu would not cause a locking of the wheels.

Likely your brake pads/shoes are just stuck to the rotors/drums.

flash a auto tune in a auto car not a 5sp tune

Sig states manual car. Reckon the tune has locked the brakes up....

In all seriousness though, have you had rain/ice recently OP?

Didn't do any other work to the car. Just drove the car a few hours before tune. Engine revs great. No odd sounds or knocks. Doesn't roll when in neutral. Just odd that after I flash the ECU, car can't move. Maybe it threw the sensors off??

No Rain or ice either.

This doesn't make any sense.

Is the clutch fried? Calipers seized on the rotors? Forgot a wheel chock?

wparsons 03-13-2018 11:02 AM

The ECU tune doesn't touch the ABS system, and if it was holding the brakes on you'd hear it pump up the pressure.

Does it roll in neutral with the engine off?

Did you ever get the parking brake off?

Lantanafrs2 03-14-2018 09:21 PM

My car wouldn't move in gear before the tune.

engine off, in Neutral, no E-Brake- will it roll if you push it?

engine On, in Neutral, no e-brake- will it roll if you push it?

First thing to figure out is what it is that is keeping it from going. Is it brakes being stuck, stuck e-brake, or will it roll but gears won't engage. Your post is pretty vague.

I am baffled on some of these posts.
