FT86 Track School Group Buy

Hi folks!

As some of you may know, I am an instructor with Pinnacle Advanced Driving Academy (www.pinnacledriving.com) and we have a thread on going for our track school for the 2018 season.

We've always enjoyed strong support from the 86 community and we'd like to thank all of you who have attended so far! We couldn't have made it without you! Fun fact: we've had at least 3 FRZ's in almost every track event we've hosted! Glad to know you folks are enjoying your car the way they were designed!

As a result, we'd like to see what the community thinks of having a FT86club.com exclusive group buy for our school. This pricing will only be available to you guys via this website.

Please vote in the poll and I can bring back this info to the organizer and we can make this happen!

Thanks again to everyone's support!

Cheers.

Kev

EDIT:
So I went back to the team and discussed what could be offered and here's what we have:

If we get 10 people from FT86club.com sign up, the price is $350 all in (currently at $375).

If we get 20 people from FT86club.com sign up, the price is $325 all in (which is below even our early bird special).

To sign up for this offer (which depends on how many people sign up), please email info@pinnacledriving.com and use the subject line "FT86 Group Buy". We will collect all the names and then confirm pricing.

Also post here if you've signed up so I can keep tabs!

Would this be in a beginner type of format? Or just kinda hop on the track and we'll give you small tips here and there.

None the less, I am interested.

Yo, @Tcoat @TorontoNat @StraightOuttaCanadaEh ... etc

I believe we had a great day with the OMC event and I think we will be pairing up with them again. I will post it up here as soon as I find out. Not all the clubs have booked in their track days yet so I can't confirm.

It would be our introductory class unless for some reason we have all the track junkies sign up.

I've personally taught folks in their 60s. You're a young 'un in comparison!

It would be our intro to performance driving dates:

- Sunday April 29th (9am - 5pm)
- Saturday June 9th (9am - 5pm)
- Saturday July 7th (9am - 5pm)

The deal is not a FT86club day but an FT86club deal. Sorry if I wasn't clear!

Kev

new2subaru 03-11-2018 08:09 PM

I'm in. What date would you guys like to go?

April of June would be my preference.

df.dima 03-11-2018 09:37 PM

I would probably prefer June date. My wife is due with our 2nd baby in Aug so July is getting close. Got to get that track day before the baby crap happens lol.
I attended PADA last July and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
I think if we get a decent group going it would be nice to bunch up newer 86 people together. It was my first time out there and while i was doing apparently great it was still a bit intimidating with much more powerful cars or more experienced people that go harder. Although by end of day you get used to it. Plus the crowd was mature and well behaved. PADA also did a great job controlling things. With diff group it could be different.

350 is a good deal that i also got as Christmas special last time. Lunch was awesome too and overall it felt like i got a couple hours worth of track time and most importantly instructors. I had seat time with Jay and Colin and both have their own style and thoughts, so that is cool that you get some rotation.
By end of day u will be exhausted and i even felt like i cant go on any more as sharp because im mentally cooked.

Thomas with his bmw is the guy to watch for as he goes serious haha

Also this is going to be one of the best few hundred dollars spent with this car ever (the other one is proper alignment).
If u think its pricey, consider skipping ur next fluff mod, rip off that spoiler or jdm side marker, sell it and go (no offense to the good cosmetic looks crowd i love the eye candy just fine too)

I think I speak for the younger crowd on this little bold part here. It is definitely pricey for us young people, and for me I can't help but think about the inevitable "what happens if I crash my brand new car that daddy ISN'T PAYING FOR.." thought. Being competitive also doesn't help this, lol.

Try not to think about it or you'll never go lol

I'll let you drive mine, but be warned, it's an AT :P

mr_squirrel 03-11-2018 11:29 PM

I'd be interested. I was going to try an 86drive day, but an instructor course may be more my thing.

I need to go, I want to do it while I'm young, gain the skills while I'm young, so in the future, when I show up to some random race event, everyone will just seem some old dude in some old ass 2017 86 or a brand new cayman, running circles around everybody.

Lol, you'd do that for a person you've never met :confused0068: , and AT ain't that big a deal, driving is what matters.

This isn't a race but a learning course so you aren't racing one another. The goal of the course is for you to improve and learn how to get better and be equipped with the mindset to understand how to continue to get better.

You're not expected to drive at the car's limits but safely approach your own. No one wants anyone to crash.

The counter point to the price tag is, if you don't learn how to take the car to your limits, chances are you will crash if you find that limit when you're in a bad situation in real life. That's far more expensive than the price of the course.

That being said, most of the other schools go for similar prices (see my track school review thread) so we're not out pricing ourselves either. You will also get perks like JRP discount cards and we do keep track of who shows up to our courses so you can come back out to PADA lapping days and we can continue your development.

Someone above said June, so I think that's a safe bet as of right now. I'd like to go on the same day as most people too, see some faces around here.
