Disclaimer: I am also the chief timer and part of the Ontario Time Attack Organizing committee.
So OTA's school and lap pricing is done on a not-for-profit model and pretty much a school + sign off for competition lapping. I was part of the budget setting the prices for this year. So there's that. It's a good school as I've reviewed in the past. All instructors are volunteers and it runs off of volunteers.
PADA is an independent school and you can't necessarily view the price for just lapping at TMP. It's a full day, catered and continued education with us which we can expand into other curriculums like our intermediate and upcoming advanced course which OTA does not do. In terms of price point, we're not the cheapest but nowhere near the most expensive either. We're composed of a team that you will find all over grassroots competition from regional autocross series, to Push-It-To-The-Limit Autocross, to Ontario Time Attack (and possibly CSCS next year) to SCCA nationals. Our passion is to create a community and for you to be a part of it. We have a huge palette of instructors that can cater to anyone from seasoned race drivers to the 65 year old fellow who finally wants to see how his/her Miata can handle on the track (true story!). We are all over grassroots motorsports in the GTA from Regional autocross series, to Push-it-to-the-Limit autocross, to Ontario Time Attack (and possibly CSCS next year), to even SCCA nationals. We are all there for you and that's part of our mission goal.
I stand by our product but at the same time, disclaimer: I'm an instructor.
I suggest attending at least a couple of schools to whet your appetite in terms of instruction and what you can glean from it. I've personally attended 5 (OTA, Hanson, Ian Law, BMW Trillium GP and the PADA curriculum) and it's helped me improve immensely as to what I'm doing wrong and how I can best learn from which kind of instructor.
