brand new or used exhaust?

hello dear friends

as we know installing new exhaust is inevitable:drool:

i live away from USA, middle east Dubai

ordering an exhaust system will take weeks and become expensive due to frieghts

anyhow, i found a lot of used exhaust between 3-5 months used, price approx:

1- Greddy Evo3: new will cost $1000, Used=$400
2- Magnaflow: new $1200, used $500
3- Borla: $1100, used $450
4- Corsa: new:$1400, used $800

all catbacks

any recommendation?

all i need a really awesome exhaust sound but lowest drone possible and medium loudness note

:thanks:

Magnaflow is very quiet, I would avoid it. They tend to make exhausts on the quiet side.
Corsa is loud. I have it currently on my car. No drone, but it is loud on acceleration and has a very distinct "whaaaaAAA" howl as opposed to other exhausts' usual burble or gruff type noises. That was the selling point for me. No idea about Greddy or Borla, although from the sound clips I've seen, they seem to fall into that gruff and burbly category.

I would go corsa as well especially at those prices. can't really ask for a better exhaust. deep tone at lower rpms, high pitched wail after 5K.. no drone for the most part. nice tips too if you can get them to sit even.

Are you just doing catback or do you plan to do more? I have Corsa and I like the sound of it but I've heard it's not so good when combined with other aftermarket exhaust parts - it's best when the Corsa catback is your only exhaust mod. Maybe not particularly loud as far as aftermarket exhausts go - @86_IT heard mine at a local shop and commented on how quiet it was compared to what he was used to (although he didn't hear a true cold start on it or probably anything over 1500 RPM or so, so it may be hard to gauge by that), but it's loud enough to announce itself as aftermarket while still giving you the ability to keep it quiet when you want.

thanks all for the tips

I don't necessarily understand why people buy exhaust brand new anyways. If you can find one in normal condition for that price take it and polish the tips yourself :)

So that there are used ones for other people to buy maybe?
Where do people think all the used stuff comes from?

Actually, good point.

OP, buy the Corsa brand new and in like 6-7 months when you decide its time for a change, let me know how much you want for it ;)

Now you get the way it works!
Although I think the shipping from Dubai may be a deal breaker.

I'd get the Greddy for that price. One of the best sounding stand alone exhausts in my opinion for this car. Really low deep gurgle. ALmost sounds like you have UEL headers on which is nice. Not terribly loud. Can be a bit droney and the canisters hang a bit low. But worth it imo.

Because you get to stare at it for a few days before install...

I've sat in a car with a Greddy Evo 3, personally the drone was too much for me. YMMV

The overall tone was nice though.

Borla I've heard have some quality issues. Corsa and Magnaflow seem like solid choices. If you can get a resonated Perrin over there, I think that would be most ideal for you.

thanks guys

i will do more research before i buy
