2013 FRS engine failure at 62k
My 2013 Scion failed tonight, i did not do the 60k maintenance but did all the scheduled oil changes and I have 62k miles. I do have a Toyota 7 year extended warranty because my car was one of the first FRS with the CEL issue and my car sat at the dealership for 42 days. Do you guys think Toyota will honor my warranty?

Sorry to hear that.
I don't see why not. Do you have any mods? |
Only mods I did was a TRD CAI and Perrin catback
|
What happened? "failure" is pretty broad. How was the car used? Driven hard? Street only? Daily driven?
|
im sorry to hear that bro :(
|
Dailey driver no tracking
|
So what happened?
|
Crazy. What month was your car manufactured? Seems like the first off the lines had the most problems.
That and a lot of the times it seems like these cars are a hit or miss. There are guys running over a 100k boosted miles. Some of the early turbo guys were running the car at 530+whp on stock internals for thousands of miles. |

What did your car fail to do .. ?? Whether or not the warranty would cover it would depend on a lot of things ....?? humfrz |
Dam, thats scary, I am driving at 50k miles 2013 frs too.
I track and daily. |
What failed? There is a lot to the engine. I ask because I drive one built in 2012
|
I was driving on the highway and heard a clicking noise that gradually got louder and the engine just conked out. I tried to restart, the engine did fire for a second but no go, I hope Toyota honor my 7 year warranty because it sounds like a major repair or engine failure.

Was the oil level good?

What was oil level?
Got 130k km on mine and only the TOB is just going out now, but engine is still good. Have taken her to redline at least once a week. Mine was made in Aug 2013 |
