Clunking noise when tapping on gas at low rpm
I started having an issue lately with a clunking sound which seems like it's coming from the front passenger side. In 2nd, 3rd or sometimes 4th gear if I tap on the gas slightly at 1700 rpms or sometimes when it downshift to that rpm, it makes a clunk sound and goes away. Went to my turbo installer today, and couldn't figure out the issue. The most we were able to diagnose is that when the brake calipers were on and when you tried to rotate the hub clockwise and counterclockwise it would make that similar sound but not as loud. But when we removed the pads and caliper out there was no sound. Not sure if the pads, rotor or hub is the culprit. I was wondering if anyone had that issue before.
I tried replicating that sound in 1st, 5th or 6th but it doesnt happen. I tried tapping the gas like that in different rpms and it does not make the clunk sound. Its just in that rpm and gears mentioned above. I drive an automatic if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to narrow out on all scenarios before buying a full brake set. The mods I have are overpipe and front pipe. Recently installed a turbo too. |
Let the keyboard mechanics guessing begin ......;)
