BRZ heated seats
Hi guys, I’m planning to get a BRZ but my local shops only have display units with no option for test drive.
A question on the 2 heated seats button at the center armrest area: are they linked to the air-conditioning of the car? For example if I have my air-conditioners set to 20C will the seats be blowing out 20C cold air when I press down the heated seats toggle? I live in the tropics with hot weather all year round, and it is unlikely I will be using the heated seats function. Thanks guys. |
No AC link. Heated seats only "heat" ... they "look" cool though :)
Thanks for the quick reply, that’s a bummer! :(

Yeah, living in Texas I’d love cooling seats! Mustangs have them but I don’t really want one.
What part of “heated seats” sounds like it would cool anything off?

The seats do have a Hi and Low setting, so if it is hot out you can set the heated seat to low and it won't be as hot.
Oh, they also have an Off setting too! Wow Subaru thinks of everything. Sorry no cool setting, though the center console will hold a cold beer. - and my wife says I never have any good suggestions. |
Yea these arent the fancy seats that have active cooling with air flow and whatnot. Its just an electric heating pad inside the seat that you can set to Off, Low, or High.
Lol all the while I thought heated seats are connected to the air-con similar to rear air-con vents! Didn’t know it’s just a heated pad.
Never thought I'd use the heated seats here in south Florida but I actually had to turn them on a few times over winter.
cooling seats is a heck of a lot more expensive and complicated to engineer.
Yeah, heated seats just require heating elements, and some wires. Cooling seats require perforated seat material, ducting, a fan, etc... WAY more complicated.
