2018 Autocross/Trackcross Thread (Washington DC Area)
 

Thread for the various autocrosses/trackcrosses in the Washington DC Area:

I will do my best to update the thread/bump it if there are events coming up, especially if I plan on attending:

Capital Driving Club Autocross Schedule for 2018 (Frederick, MD/Waldorf, MD/Winchester, VA)
-Events are $30-$40

SCCA - WDCR Autocross
-Events are $48 - $58

National Capital Chapter (BMW) Autocross Schedule for 2018 (Waldorf, MD/Bowie, MD/Summit Point, WV)
-Events are $35-$55 for members, registrations via motorsportreg.com

Dominion Raceway TrackCross (Fredericksburg, VA)
-Events are $99, similar to autocross, except drive on portion of track, no work assignments

Summit Point TrackCross (West Virginia)
-Events are $99-$129, similar to autocross, except drive on portion of track, discounts for work assignments

What's an approximate time for a track cross run? Are they like a 60 sec autocross? And what are the speeds like - 3rd gear or higher?

Yea I’d say 1-2 min, 60-90 mph for trackcross as opposed to autocross which is 30-60 sec, 30-50 mph

Anybody going to NCCAR with apex this weekend coming?

Won’t be making that one but I’ve run with them before out there and had a good time. That asphalt is so unforgiving on tires though.

I’m registered for the summit point event with Audi March 17/18 and really looking forward to it. All day skid pad, fresh asphalt, corner feeeback throughout the day, ought to be a good time!

I probably would be but I have a caliper to fix or replace and this is the first I've heard about it. Sub'd for future runs and for potential future events up north.

Yeah apex events are not really advertised. Gotta keep checking!

I'm signed up for the 17th in Frederick and running with susq Scca at Hershey the following week. Really looking forward to this season since it'll be my first with the car.

For anyone autocrossing on Saturday March 17 with CDC in Frederick, MD, a couple of us are cruising to the event from Starbucks near Pimmit Hills (Falls Church/Tysons).

I heard the Saturday event was COLD! Nothing like autocrossing in snow :) I was at the TNT on Sunday and it was a blast. CDC is always a fun crew.
