which is the best drop in air filter for automatic BRZ
K&N, HKS Hybrid, Perrin or something else?
|
They are all about the same with no real "best". You just need to decide if you want oiled or dry. The TRD one is very good as well but costs a bit more than the others on your list.

I completely agree with Tcoat. I do have the AFE dry filter and really like it so that also might also be one for you to consider.

I have afe dry as well. I don't want to have to oil the filter when cleaning it.
Some generalities to consider: More surface area, better overall flow. Better filtration from media, less efficient flow. Greater capacity media, longer you can run the filter efficiently. Oiled media generally has higher efficiency and capacity, but doesn't collect the smaller particulates as well as non-oiled media It works by bending air around sharp corners and flinging dirt into the oil in the filter, trapping the dirt. Having the right amount of oil is critical to filter performance Non-oiled, or dry, media forces air through small openings which physically catch dirt particles and hold them in place. Less efficient, but more predictable and consistent filtration. |
I have the Takeda Momentum CAI and I'm loving it.
|
My personal preference would be dry filters. Less chance of gunking your maf if you over oil or whatever

does the TRD one fit our BRZ?
