ACHILLES ATR SPORT or NANKANG AS20's?

Just wondering if anyone here has ran either. Both are in my price range and I'm just shopping for a new set of tires right now. Trying to keep it in the $400-$500 range for my set.

I can tell you the Achilles suck in anything but absolute dry pavement. I did have them on a higher hp fwd car, but yeah..... awful.

For a decent budget tire, look at sumitomo if you can. Htrziii in that size is around 500 from a cursory search and those are great tires, not just great budget tires.

Some of the things i was seeing about the Achilles were not that positive so i can understand that. I'm thinking im going to go with the Nankangs or the Htrziii's then. I know the Nankangs have somewhat of a reputation as the decent go to budget tire.

I've tried both. I feel that for a budget tire, if you can get the ATR Sport II (make sure you get the updated version) they would be a better option than the Nankang. The Nankangs to me offered almost no grip wet or dry.

Really? Damn. I Keep hearing the same thing about the Achilles. I cant find the ATR Sport 2's in my desired size. (225/35/19.)

I'm still a bit tore on the decision. A few friends of mine told me the Nankangs are good. I heard the Normal ATR Sports are kinda bad, idek man haha

Update, I found them in 235.

I'm going to be running them on a wheel thats 19x8.5, should I be going with 235's anyways? I like the aesthetic look of 225's stretched but idk if its safe or not. I just want something that's going to grip good.

Personally I would go with a 235. 225 would be a mild stretch, not something too dangerous. If you want grip go 235 for sure haha.

Yeah, I had them for 2 years of hard driving and they held up. Also, Daigo Saito used to use them on his 1200hp drift car in Formula D a couple years back.
