Dyno day results- gutted + E85

Dynojet

-Injen v1 intake
-gutted header and FP
-Works axleback & cherry bomb
-OFT OTS Stg 2 E85 tune

It's running a bit lean. The E85 I got in the last tank is less than 85% ethanol judging from my AFR (I have a gauge) and fuel trims. No FFK. Not enough to be an issue though. Numbers looked good, we have pretty good E85 around here. They had some trouble getting an RPM signal and my car sat idling for about 10 mins and my IAT was up over 120, I couldn't even feel their fan! That didn't help my numbers. If my IAT was lower, I'd have been over 200 HP... but I was not. No whining I'm happy with the results.

The total price of this set up (the relevant bits anyway) is about $650 altogether. I got the intake, Works axleback and OFT used locally. I could have done this for under $400 and had similar numbers. Plus running E85 is a cost SAVING over 93 (I did the numbers) and (though I haven't done the numbers) I think would be a saving over 91 even. Plus it smells so delicious.

A better header would get me better numbers, but a better HP/$ and Tq/$ - I don't think so. Not sure. Ecutec or custom tune would net better numbers too. Also the stock header means stock heat shields so heat isn't an issue under the hood. There's trade-offs for sure. It's a challenge to pursue extra power but keep it cheap.

Nice flat Tq curve- most of what I have done has been in the pursuit of more Tq. The smaller runners on the stock header don't do much for peak HP, but look at the tq curve. Up around 159 lb-ft peak looks great to me. Torque dip? Gone. Plus you can't get much cheaper.

Almost 200 HP....so close! I'll take 197 peak WHP. That weird dip is where I was shifting. Interestingly, I was making power right up to the rev limiter.

Nice numbers. Congrats!

I made a video, not much to see. But I am an Ethanolholic now! I'm a full convert despite my misgivings at first

check the tune, pretty sure it s pulling timing based on IAT by 119 degreesF or so. whered you run it?

I haven't run a dyno on mine since I don't have that much money to just throw around, but running Stage 2 UEL + E85 is indeed pretty awesome... I'll miss it when I move 8 miles south and it is no longer a viable drive to get some corn juice

It was at a local high school and the car was sitting on the dyno idling (warm day, around 80) for 10 mins while they found the wires to get an RPM signal and my IAT was up around 126 and the fan they had wasn't doing the job.... so yeah, it was pulling timing. If they got that RPM signal right away, I would have gotten in over 200 HP.

Ah well, $50 for 3 pulls isn't bad.
