AT vs MT WHP difference
I thought, that AT clutch locks up and the the WHP difference is negligible.
I found only one dyno graph here - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...25&postcount=1 here it shows that it seems my theory is correct, until hi rpm. Why is that? Is that a bad methodology on that dyno run or there is something AT related to that? Also is there is a info, where the lock up happens? Is it all the time or only on partial throttle etc? Thanks |
gearing is different?

I do not think the graph is HP related, it should not have a line between points. It is showing ratio per gear. A step or bar not a connecting line, there is no ratio between gears.
Not HP not speed not time. |
An AT twin FBO E85 vs lose to a MT twin just headers and e85. That’s how slow the AT is. Really isn’t worth modding an AT NA wise. If you have an AT, just go turbo.

A Camry will still beat either.

Once you get into boosted applications the long gearing of the AT pays off as the power is more suited to the power level. That's why you often see boosted MT going from the 4.1 FD to a 3.9 FD or lower. |
I am still waiting for an MT twin to keep up with my AT FR-S on the twistiest roads......
Why, because MT drivers miss a shift or two........... |
your loss of hp is caused by the fluid in your auto trans, to be a little more specific when the fluid passes thru the tq converter to create the input shaft to turn it loses energy. unlike a direct drive manual
|
Just press the gas pedal down a little further and she goes. Stage 2 was a big increase. Straight line speed is slow because of gearing and shifts. Putting into manual mode helps. But if you bought this car for straight-line you are doing it wrong.

Ive been very happy with my Edelbrock boosted, e-85, automatic FRS. 0 to 60 in 4.9 and I love the way it shifts on the track.
