Strange "grinding" sounds after UEL headers and up pipe
Installed OFH3 headers this weekend (includes up pipe). Got the standard "fluttering" sound thats been discussed in length here, so I'm good with that. But when driving, I'm getting this LOUD grinding/stretching/rubbing sound.
It seems to be linked to RPM speed, and I can for sure feel it through the e-brake. It's driving me insane. In my video below, you can clearly hear this sound as I'm inching forward at a stop light. It sounds like something is rubbing but I haven't found anything yet. Oh, and I installed a magnaflow catback last weekend, but the sound hasn't been there until now. Any advice would be great appreciated! https://youtu.be/XRR550pQim8 Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk |
Maybe clearence between a rubber mount?

Imo over pipe rubbing

I've inspected everything I can get to and not seeing any signs of rubbing especially around the overpipe. There's got to be a reason why I'm feeling this vibration only in the E-brake handle right?

Nothing hitting the cable?

Not from what I saw.

Did you raise the motor to install over pipe?
|
No, I removed the heat shield first and wiggled it out.

Wow, so you didn't tweak motor or tranny mounts. I'm stumped. I had problems with over pipe rubbing a few yrs ago with el header. Sorry I couldn't be of any help to you.

Under tray contact or contact somewhere is usually the culprit.
