Calling all HONDA HEADS!

Hey Guy's! I see a lot of OG screen names from H-T and others around here. What is your back story with cars, what are you doing now, why did you guys choose to go with a FRS/BRZ?

Here is a link to my back story so I don't have to redo all that.

Post up your story!

You listed it as a race car. What conference or club did you race with and what class?

Considering your list of mods you must have ran in a class with a very liberal rule set which means you must of have competed against some very expensive machinery. Any video of your racing?

It's my race car to go drive around and have fun with. So it's in the MPSRC class (my personal street race car). I never claimed I was a track star or race car driver. Can I not call my car a race car, or do I need to attend some NASA and SCCA races before my car is qualified to be called that?

I am pretty sure that I would be forced to race Honda Challenge H1 class becaus of the extensive mods. My car is twice as stout as some of my Honda Challenge friends race cars. Because I do not officially compete with my car doesn't make it less race carish lol.

This is my toy for the street. It will see some Gingerman test an tunes, and be at a few close friend invite only track days, but I've never officially driven competitively.

Also, it's unfortunate but I have very little video or pictures of this car :( What is in that thread is basically all I have.

First and foremost; your car is badass and compliments all around.

You may call your car whatever you wish and I'm not poking fun, just an honest mistake. However, words do have meaning. If your car is not built for, nor competes in sanctioned racing events where a winner is determined then no, it is not a race car and if you choose to refer to it as such you should expect (and respect) that people will ask you about what kind of racing you do. That's all.

Sorry for the confusion and I got a chuckle out of your class designation (MPSRC). Now that you own a Toyabaru I absolutely recommend you turn your Civic into an H1 car and go racing. ABSOLUTELY you should go racing. You don't need 2 street cars! You need a DD and a race car!

.....and back on topic.

I chose the BRZ/FRS because I used to own a S2000 and the FRS is like a more practical S2000 that gets better MPG's. Seriously why can't we have fun and be thrifty simultaneously?

Former s2000 owner you say? Excellent, I want to pick your mind if that's ok. Most of my car buddies are track whores and push me to track it more, but I always have horrible things happen in my life that prevent it.

My excuse this year is that it was half stripped by theives. I need just a few small parts and the car will be ready for paint, AGAIN. This car never sees daily duty anymore and spends all its time locked up, let it out for some highway blasts, and gets stashed away again.

I feel you the "race car" term. It annoys me off too when people call their car a "race car", when all it has is an intake, and omni power coilovers which were blown 10 yeas ago, lol. I just refer it as race car when differentiating from my daily to my regular friends who don't know cars.

What CRX do you drive? Do you race Honda challenge? We might share a lot of mutural friends across the country. You ever meet Charlie from Topsetup, or Wai with the spoon type r?
