Can you tell us a bit about the CSG spec Teins? Looks like there isn't any info on their site yet. I think I'm going RCE, but this has my attention!

CSG could probably explain better but from my perspective:

I had a budget of 1500 for coilovers. My options were regular Flex A, fortune auto with swift, csg spec flex A, and other sub 1200 coilovers.

I talked to Mike and expressed that I wanted to do more track days and autocross, and got some advice on damper specs. From what he told me these coilovers are custom valved to take track abuse and are unmatched outside of coilovers over 2k.

My small complaint is that I’m impatient and I have to wait for them to arrive in 2 months. Lol!

Hope that helps.

Cool. I imagine they are 1 way? What springs do they come with?

EDIT: Ignore me, I just went and looked at the invoice again. Its taking every bit of restraint I have to not splurge on coils right now. I am envious!

yeah honestly it's a bummer I have to wait till April because I think I'm getting my wheels soon, but I did not want to go into the 2k price tag for coils (ohlins would have been my choice), so it was a no brainer to get CSG spec Flex A.

My wallet is seriously hurting today, but when good deals come up you have to take advantage of them.

A local 86 owner was parting his car out, and I snagged:
Ace 350 Type B header and overpipe
Delicious Flex Fuel kit with stainless steel braided lines

I also picked up a second hand tc105n wrapped in Michellin Pilot Super Sports (245/40/17) for a really good deal, and they are in great condition.

Well... 2 of them are at least. the other 2 are still in the UPS truck because the delivery guy only left one of the two boxes that had the wheels and left before I could ask about the second one. They were also 3 days late, and didn't even take my signature!! :mad0260:

They should get delivered soon enough though.

Plan is to pick up a front pipe soon and get the Delicious Flex Fuel tune for ace and hopefully get ~200-210 whp range. I decided turbo is going to wait until I have a garage and more disposable income so I can fix things when it breaks. I'm hoping to get S2000 level of power with this, and I should be satisfied for a good while.

The coilovers should be here next month so I won't have to run monster truck fitment for too long :bonk:

I also ordered some track/autox magnet numbers. I'll take some pictures once the car gets a wash tomorrow.

Those are really nice parts to pick up, nice find!

Just curious, but why replace the front pipe? Seems like the stock piece will keep noise down and shouldn't hurt your performance.

From CSG's testing, there's about 7 whp to be gained from a front pipe. I'll probably give up 2 whp and grab a high flow catted from pipe though cause catless is just too obnoxious.

The Ace 350 is meant to use the overpipe. I don't think I would leave it off....I would ask CSG first.

?

I plan to run the overpipe, that’s part of why this header is so good haha.
We are talking about the front pipe, which is what mates to the overpipe.

TheBRZsKnees 03-04-2018 05:09 PM

I'm surprised that a catless front pipe wouldn't make more of a difference. Cats are pretty restrictive. If you plan to go forced induction this time around, you may want to save yourself some later effort and go catless.

Hey man, i have a Berk HFC if you're interested. Its been on the car for maybe 8-9 months and its still on my car. If you are serious about buying i can sell it to you once its off my car. PM me and we can talk about it

Lust 03-05-2018 06:42 PM

Nice to see you back in a BRZ

spicyricecake 03-14-2018 03:33 PM

Small update: the mk1 flex fuel kit was for 2013-2016 BRZ, so it wouldn't fit. Delicious was awesome in giving me information I needed for this.
I ended up selling the kit so I will likely just run 93. I should still be able to get closed to 200 whp without corn :P
