2018 Norcal86 Board Member Nominations
Norcal86 is operated by a publicly elected board of directors. This leaves the group accountable to the community as that is why we are here in the first place. This weekend I will have a year in review and P&L statement for 2017 up for everyone and an open place for discussion on what you may like to see this coming year.
Current board: President: Jonah aka Finch @finch1750 Stockton, CA Board members: Josh @Pish San Jose/San Francisco, CA Tricia @86FRESH San Jose, CA Trevor @MisterSheep San Ramon, CA Plato @PMok Hayward, CA Current board members are automatically included in the election as the incumbent unless they indicate otherwise (non of which have done so). Board member responsibilities include: planning and running various annual events such as Summer Kickoff and 86Day, assisting with local meets if/as needed, being a positive influence in the community and representing FT86 owners in a positive light at all times, and of course, all other duties as assigned lol If you have anyone you think would be a good candidate or think you yourself would be a good candidate please post up with a statement. Please specify if you would like to run for President or for a general board position. If you have any questions on duties please post here or PM a current board member. The terms will be from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019. Nominations will take place until 11:59pm on Sunday 2/18 Elections will take place from Monday 2/19 to Sunday 2/25 via poll posted on this regional forum. If I wanted to become a board member, what would the job details be?
Is there a jester option? You can delete if this isn’t allowed in this section. |

What do the monetary investments into the club go towards?

The investments ensure there is a certain level of commitment. At this point we have a balance to start the year off but in the beginning it was used to cover our first operating costs (though we had to contribute more of our own funds at first anyway). Now it is to ensure that people don't run and then bail because its too much work or whatever excuse the come up with. Like stated, they are refundable upon leaving the board at completion of a full term upon request. Edit: Also, it is a 1 time investment. Returning members do not have to put in addition funds every year. For example @PMok and I have put in funds 4 years ago and that is it (minus out of pocket expenditures that are reimbursed like shopping for Summer Kickoff, site rentals, etc) |
I would love to run again this year, but due to my peak season work schedule I can’t guarantee I’d get the day off to run our hosted events. But would be more than available to help with the planning and coordinating process for each event.

Do the terms of reference require you to be local? Would I have to come and visit once a month? Would I have to bring Ultramaroon with me each time? Can we run as a team? Would I actually get to meet MrSheep? Would Finch show up to meets on time? Can we charge him a dollar every time he is late? Is a dollar enough? |

There was a stretch of events where I was early at one point with the Sac group. I was even the first one there. Twice! |
@PRKR8NGR for whatever reason my work computer won't let me quote you (or multi quote hence so many posts in a row), you are welcome to run but I will say that most of the pre-event coordination still requires being at the event that day. It's mostly dividing of labor on what needs to be bought and then hauled to the event, recruiting and supervising volunteers, etc.

You guys are organized. Wow.
Thanks. |
