Accidentally tried lowering window while iced like an asshole, now doesn't work

As the title states, i tried lowering my window the other day and didn't realize it was stuck in place by ice. My window switches were flashing for a few days and the passenger side window won't move (even without the ice obviously). Is it likely I blew a fuse, if so, which one should I try replacing? Hoping I didn't mess up the regulator. Window currently stuck with about a half inch open.

ichi, feel free to move this if this is the wrong section. Wasn't too sure where to put this.

There is an overload reset procedure in the manual, try this thread:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19731

Edit: I didn't read that they aren't moving at all, just saw the flashing part and assumed this reset. There should be a fuse box under the dash for the interior fuses and the legend on the cover.

A few winters ago when I had this happen to my 2013 FR-S, it was snowing outside and there was a little bit of ice on my window. When I rolled down the window about 8 inches, it would not go back up. So, I put a down sleeping bag in the crack and a tarp over the window. I ran the car for about an hour with the heat blasting to warm the whole car up. It worked. The window rolled up.

Later, I read about holding the window switch for 10 seconds to reset it. And that worked too! :bonk:

Hope you get your window up.

I deal with iced up windows almost daily through the winter. Since getting my drive-through coffee each morning is a high priority in life I quickly learned how to deal with the problem. Each morning (almost all of them from December to March) I watch the window to see if it comes down when I open the door. If it doesn't then I scrape the window and take an old hotel door swipe card (any plastic card would do) and run it along the seal between the weather stripping and the glass. Sometimes I have to use some force and chip the ice out between the two but I have never had to reset the windows in 4 winters now.

Yes, I have done this as well. I think I've only tripped it once and freaked out hehe. I think it got stuck slightly open, but it didn't rain that day. Once I got home I found out how to fix it. So that was a huge relief. I think after that day, I just ran an ice scrapper along the bottom of the frost or ice before I opened the door. Then I ran the defroster/heat before I ever tried to open the window. Hasn't happened again, but then again we don't have harsh winters in this part of NC.

My coffee is only a one minute drive from home and that window NEEDS to open. I don't have time to let the car warm up when it is when it is -4F and since it was 40F six hours earlier and all the snow melted, ran into the weather strip and froze solid as steel. The struggle is real!

Haha eeegots! Luckily I make my coffee at home before I head out to work. Although I do have almost a $100 in gift cards for Starbucks that I never use. I'm just too lazy go because that would require me to set my alarm clock earlier. Nope, ain't waking up earlier!! haha

Depends if he makes it at home it may require more time may not taste the same. Second he still has to go out to the car to get in and leave. I am not a fan of multiable trips so he may have to clear his drive way to get out plus warm the car up. I would think getting in and driving 1 min away would be easier and he would be on his way.

I actually have to recommend not doing this. I actually destroyed my driver's side weather stripping that way back in 2013-2014 doing this. Maybe I used too thick of a card or something, but beware, it can happen.

Has to be a thin fleable card. Don't go down against the seal. Get it in the end and work your way across horizontally.
Don't chop down against the seal. That would be bad and you could wreck it in no time. I can see how my original description reads like that though.
