I suggest a lav mic. If you use a shotgun mic, get a mic stand and place it much closer to your mouth. Don't leave it mounted on the camera when you're standing extremely far away from the camera! You'll get bad audio and hear all the reverberation from being in your garage.

Yea that's what I'll use more often in scenes like that. I have the lav mic just never use it in the garage before. Thanks!

Just as a heads up for the ACE header install. I went to tighten down the bolts today after driving on it a bit and noticed that the bottom of the header was very slightly hitting the under tray. Just took a couple wacks to the tray with a hammer and that took care of it.

That's a known issue, right?

I think so, yes. But I didn't remember when doing the install and just noticed today.

Regardless, glad it was an easy fix. BFH FTW. Every man's favorite tool.

Certain chassis you need a hammer at the ready, other chassis require an angle grinder, others a welder.

The 86 so far seems like the kind of car that responds best to a hammer.

:bonk:

Need to do this to mine. :D

Why not use the hammer on the header?

<ducking>

Sure is!

Stiff/solid engine mounts eliminates it, as the clearance is only a few mm; the OEM engine mounts and softer engine mounts allow enough flex for the header to touch the undertray

@justinco may have noticed the ceramic is much harder than that undertray ;)

Yea, this ceramic is on another level. I've had all kinds of parts ceramic coated over the years (turbo manifolds, turbines, downpipes, other headers, etc) and this stuff looks like new even after some use.

just a heads up for anyone that will do this in the future, use a ballpeen hammer from this not a claw hammer. it will be a lot easier.

It's pretty simple! And like jasono said, tuning is pretty idiot proof these days, but I can see it being confusing for someone who has not done it before. Stay tuned for a video on ECUtek basics in the near future :)

I'll look forward to this one!

Yep. I'm not sure if the CS400 are routed any differently than the A350 with regard to the pan clearance, but I didn't clearance the pan when I installed a CS400 plus sti engine and trans mounts, and can confirm that there are no rattling sounds or apparent issues.
