I'm not sure how you can call that an 86. It only looks like one.

Well, They did manage to get to 800hp with an FA block.......so..........

Just something for your mind when you own the bank.

I just read today on SH
that HKS 86 set new record back in december on Tsukua on semi-slicks!
that's awesome.
although it prob doesnt even have one single nut in common as my 86,
I think it's awesome that HKS chose ZN6 to develop and build to this level.

What should we call it instead then?

I'm assuming he means because the bore and stroke have changed, its no longer 86mmx86mm, therefore no longer tied to the namesake.

For the record, i disagree. same engine, same body, same frame.

Like NASCAR, the only thing in common with the car you can buy is a vague resemblance.

Still, I guess you have to call it something.

The bore and stroke have nothing to do with the namesake. The reference to the namesake are the cars with the AE86 chassis code.

At some point the same body, same engine and same frame have been changed so much it is no longer the same car. That point will never be agreed on by anybody.
