I'm starting to lean more towards the reversing sensors..

they make a camera license plate some are small some are adjustable and most the time aren't too bulky

Losing signal... Like UnLeasHer said.. not worth the cost
Oh and after consulting nrma on difference of extra alarms or not, apparently a dealer extra is better cos its 'certified' rather than an aftermarket anyone can put on themselves hence the price will have a slight difference.. don't quote me on it tho as I vaguely remember it as so.. but either way extra alarms are good.

Just thought I'd put my 2cents in with regards to the backup camera. I've had these for my last several cars and I really would like to have it for the BRZ. I've noticed that the backup camera is an option in Japan, so wouldn't it be offered for N. America too? I'm hoping so. At the time of my order the backup camera & the sensors weren't even an available option.

The only dealer option I added, was the alarm. I didn't see a need for a reversing camera or parking sensors.

Nah I didn't get it. There's a thread with someone who did though. I'm just going to go with sensors when they get in stock but so far I'm not having any real trouble.

toyota sat nav - $1400
Outside Market: $500-800

Reverse Sensors - $525
Outside Market: $250-400

Blue illuminated lights (floor lights) - $2xx
Outside Market: No idea, are you sure dealer has this option?

Extra Alarm - $500
Outside Market: $300-400

See how much you can save.

You can get most of that stuff done aftermarket at a much cheaper rate. I was quoted $2300 for a top of the line Eclipse upgrade in my GT, I can get a Pioneer fitted for around $1700.

Floor lights...you can do yourself, gotta be tutorials out there. I already helped my brother LeD up his Golf, took 20 minutes.

I put a two way alarm in my car so if someone breaks into my car or tries to tow it my pager will notify me. I installed the viper 350 because it did not come with remote start. Also i was thinking of putting the back up cam in my car due to parking in LA. i would like to have both parking sensor and cam but i will not drill holes into my bumper so cam it is. As for the rest of the things you asked i like the factory radio due to not having to install a blue tooth mic. i also like being able to play my Pandora from my phone

how much is this viper 350? by pager, do u mean to your phone via SMS? that someone is trespassing into ur car??

Id suggest u get an aftermarket better one instead for 1000! bluetooth takes like 20seconds to connect, sound is pretty crap. like uber crap compared to my mazda 3. heaps of functions are disabled whilst driving. check out the TECH head unit on the yaris - its the same one.

i just looked at the functions on the TECH, are u sure I'm getting that one? the functions on there are roughly similar to some i see on eclipse units i saw on a webpage (searched on google)....

do u know how often the signal drops? is it very very frequent? I'm actually thinking to NOT to even bother with a satnav now lol...:happy0180:

I believe you can pick up this 2-way alarm for around $150-200. Not sure because I paid wholesale. I also picked up front window modules to roll up and down the windows. Installation will cost just as much as the alarm. This is a remote pager that tells you where the person in trying to enter. Not phone

I dont know what the dealer has offered you, but my GTS came with the TECH unit as do most Toyotas. The functions may be the same - but i reckon after market will kill TECH. The signal seems to drop if u drive under cover i.e. shallow tunnels and i have had it drop on a straight road on sunny day but it comes back on. it takes me the LONG backway when i have set it for shortest route.... and kept telling me to turn back... all in all its not bad - but i wouldnt go out of my way to get it if there are other cheaper + better options.

I love my Android Google Navigation , seems work really well for me. Never had issues with it. Very rarely drops out

Hi Guys, new to here but in similar situation as the topic starter.

Placed an order on a GT 3 weeks back. Was looking around at the few of the extra options. Dealer came back offering Paint Protection, Interior Protection, Reverse Sensors and Window Tint for $1,500. Worth it?

Looking for a few thoughts from fellow members here :)
