Setup: BRZ w/ Perf Pkg in C Street

I'm thinking this for a starting point:

1/10th tow out on front and 1/10 tow in on rear
17x7.5 Enkei PFO1s
225/45/17 (probably RE-71Rs)

Thoughts?

I'd start with zero toe up front.

RE01R isn't legal for scca street classes.. 200TW or higher.

Thanks...meant to say RE-71Rs (fixed in post). Zero certainly makes sense as a starting point.

Make sure you get oe camber bolts and Max out the front camber. Sway bar to taste.

@cjd and @strat61caster, since we are talking stock class, shouldn't he be looking into something oversized for those wheels like a 245? That is what the AS 04 STis used to do "way back when". At least more rubber, while not ideal, would seem what you need. Does that work on these cars?

I see no mention of a mega front sway bar to arrest the front end roll.

I see no mention of Konis on the front so there is adjustable damping and rebound.

Also, you have to have that sweet, sweet track pipe on the car. #worthIt. ;)

As a starting point, I want to give the Sachs shocks, heavier bars of the perf pkg, and a proven size tire on the car first. May end up where you suggest though...with the half-inch wider wheel, who knows? I haven't seen one of the cars compete yet.

cjd 01-20-2018 10:36 AM

Wider tires are not for everyone from everything I have read.

A swaybar isn't needed to start (nor strut replacements) and the PP is supposed to be better than other models already on struts.

I would count alignment (max negative camber legally up front, zero toe, maybe a touch toe-in for the back) as top of the list, then tires. From there, change the car to alter behavior as needed. I'll guess a front swaybar will happen to improve transitions.

trippinbillies40 01-21-2018 10:49 AM

I would do a front bar. The car will transition much better. I'm running 1/8" total toe out up front to help turn in, which is pretty typical for an autocross setup. I'm at 1/16" toe in on the back.

I've been on the 235/45 size tires, RE71Rs at first and now on the Nexens. I like the stones better. The gearing for these cars is super short in 2nd gear, so a taller tire isn't a bad idea. Especially if you're going to be running a national size/speed course.

JByrd 01-21-2018 01:41 PM

Thank you. We do run Nat'l level courses in CCR, so the tire size makes sense. May I ask which wheel you are using?

trippinbillies40 01-21-2018 08:04 PM

Just picked up some Enkei PF01's but haven't used them yet. Was using the stock wheels locally here.
