DDX917WS Android Questions

I'm looking at getting away from my Joying unit since it's kind of a piece of shit that loves to lock up for 2-4 minutes randomly, because reasons. That being said, I value having the Torque app readily available. I have two questions with this in mind. My phone doesn't have "air mirroring" or "screen mirroring", also known as Miracast, so I'm pretty sure I'm limited to wired Android Auto only.

Is this the case, or can you set up to do wired mirroring?
Does Torque work with Android Auto?

sorta.. there's ODB2AA
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gen...orque-t3657805

its plugs into both torque and AA, but requires you run AA in dev mode. I have it installed, and it seems to work, but I haven't configured it much yet. it'll auto start torque/bluetooth with AA though which is cool.

Edit:
because im curious, what data do you show on torque usually?
Only data items I think might semi regularly use would be battery voltage, oil temp, and E%, but apparently getting E% might be a chore, as it's not standardized. I haven't looked into it much yet but I would love it if I could display this in torque.
for reference I have a moto-east FF kit with evap harness.

Nice. I did see that but I wasn't sure if the Torque dev decided to get off their ass and code for AA. Wish they would.

I'm kind of leery about going all-in on AA. I remember the AppRadio.

I use AA every day, big fan myself.
I have ODB2AA, but haven't really configured it yet other than to see it working.

Nice, thanks man. I mostly just want something that doesn't make me want to punch the screen out at this point. Getting OBD data is kind of just a bonus.

I have a pioneer 4100NEX, I would personally recommend one of the newer units, maybe the 4200. the 4100 isn't bad, but it's the first AA unit they release, and some of its menus can be a little slow. the music never cuts out, its definitely got thread priority figured out, but from what I have read the 4200 got a 2nd processor to help make things smoother. one interesting thing, is AA is never slow for me b/c AA from pioneer just streams everything to the phone, so your AA experience is pretty much entirely based on your phones capabilities.
