What's more dangerous than a motorcycle? A small airplane.

My neighbor has one in his garage, in pieces. 7 years and he's not worked on it once.

The difference is the most dangerous thing about a small plane is the pilot, while the most dangerous thing about a motorcycle is everyone else.

Pretty easy to mitigate the danger in a small plane.

2002 Honda Accord LS/SE (middle son's car)
2004 Chevy Suburban Z71 (family hauler and bad weather tank)

I suppose the Honda may not count as "mine" as my son pays all the expenses on it these days. We bought it for him when he turned 16 nine years ago and it just keeps going.

I miss having a motorcycle in the garage, that will probably be my next purchase.

I also have an airplane (2 seater kit) in my basement I should probably finish at some point. It's basically become a "when I retire" project.

We have always owned at least one more car than we have drivers. It just seems to make life easier.

Well, I have heard the old joke about building a BOAT in a basement ....... but, an AIRPLANE ........ ?? :eyebulge:

Too dangerous dude. Everyone that I know that's ridden a Moto-C for over a year, has gotten into at least one accident (usually not their fault) which has rendered their phyisical body less range of motion , aches, pains.. etc. etc. It really isn't worth it, to get say 60-70 mpg , and to go zero- 75mph in a very fast time. Cons out weigh the pros, and I've spoken with countless people over the last 20 years about this (I come from a cycling background... motorcycle sounds appealing.. at least from the cost of ownership perspective).

1. FRS , manual. Owned since new.
2. Tundra '05 X-cess cab, Limited , super white,TRD sport package V8, 63k miles. Most versatile vehicle you can own.
3. Scion xA '06 , manual, polar white., almost 91k miles. Owned since new. Great daily commuter

I will be selling either the Tundra or xA in either 2019 or 2020. It's a tough call, they all serve a certain specific purpose, all durable , all fun in their own right to drive. Tundra eats more resources (gas mainly), so I'm leaning toward selling the Tundra due to being able to get the most $$ for her.... should be $15-16k. xA is the most efficent , but FRS is truely the most fun to drive, and it's the freshest car (thus the FRS I keep long term....15+ years, probably thru my 50's .... could be the last car I own. In 1-2 years from now, I'll be moving to a place where driving a car daily won't be needed.:clap::thanks::popcorn:

The handiest garage arrangement I've had was out in Danville, CA, back in the mid 70's.

It had a 3 car garage and the 3rd bay had a full sized garage door to the back yard.

So, I parked my MGB in one bay; a sedan in the 2nd bay; the drive through 3rd bay was to a carport in back where I parked my 1956 Ford PU. The 3rd bay was my workshop and where I parked my MC. The lawn mower and stuff like that went into the little shed. All on a 1/3 acre lot, in a subdivision.

Yep, I paid $66,000 for that house when it was new. 4 bedrooms, separate office/5th bedroom, 3 full baths, 2,400 sq. ft. That puppy sold for 1.3 million last year.

And that is my back-in-the-day story for the day ......:D

Your car buying is a lot like ours. We had an 05 xA and then an FRS. We sold the xA, though. Selling my dad's 06 xB now. The xA and xB are reliable as hell, but they are total penalty boxes to drive. Modern pasenger cars are a million times more comfortable. Also, I ended up with a Ram, not a Tundra. The Toyota dealer didn't budge on price.

I had no idea you lived in Danville. Or I did and I forgot. 1.3 million in Danville isn't all that expensive, really. That's the median price. Do you remember Simon Hardware in Oakland?

Let's not rule out the billions upon billions of flight hours without an accident. Since Valens and Holly were in the same plane you only get one point for that. More musicians (and probably a few politicians) have died choking on their own vomit than in plane crashes.
