Lets See What Your Models with Equipment & Pricing for the FR-S Would Look Like?!
This is what I would like to see for the FR-S: Revised 5/6/11
Standards -SAME BODY OF COURSE! -NO HATCH, TRUNK PLZ! -Side Air Bags -Cloth Bucket Seats -Projector Healights -Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel -Steering Wheel Audio Controls -Ipod/Aux Connection Base Model- Around $22.5K -At least 180-200HP -At least 18" Rims G Spec Model Around $25 -Everything above in the Base model^ -At least 250HP -Turbo with intercooler -Fabric for Seating; Suede & Leather or Leather -Sunroof -HID Projector Headlights -Push Start Button with Smart Key This is a bit more realistic... I did research on the Scion tC loaded with some of performance & accessorie options that came to a total around $23.5K & also a Genesis Coupe with most of these options around $27. So I think this pricing is a lil closer to what can be. Remember, putting a car together with these parts cost much more less than the actual MSRP! |
too much work. but i highly doubt that push to start will be standard. same with LED tails.
|
I think there was a trim speculation thread already.
|
If it's 20K or less, tC sale will be cut in half.
|
People are asking for wayy too much... for way too little. lol
|
So many things wrong with OP.
|
I agree with Giccin and blur. That's too much to expect for those prices.
|
I thought scion does not have trim levels but dealer installed parts? Special editions maybe, anyways

+1 asking for too much equipment for too little money. There are a couple points that really grate me however with the OP's wish list.
*Hatch vs. trunk: I still can't wrap my head around why someone would intentionally want a uselessly tiny trunk lid opening versus a practical fastback opening. *Sunroof: I hope to goodness there is not a sunroof anywhere in sight. Targa is cool but adds weight and leak-points, but sunroofs are an idiotic idea when you're trying to make a low-n-light sports car. *Cheesy bolt-ons: CAI, louder exhaust, lowering springs, and uprated brakes are all going to end up being dealer accessories. Toyota isn't going to bother their efficient production lines with a barrage of different components. There will likely be only one trim level and the only factory option will be the exterior color. There will be no leather seats [it's not a damn GT people!], no factory NAV [thank goodness], no junk! __________________________________________________ __________ Here's my fearless prediction to date: Scion FR-S, one trim level: *180HP 2.0L boxer w/6 speed manual w/torsen LSD *The usual power steering, brakes, windows, doors, mirrors *Old school ignition key with remote keyless locks and immobilizer *~12.2"x1.0" brake rotors w/floating 1-piston calipers *Stability control, TC, ABS, CBC, EBD, BA *double wishbone front suspension and multilink rear suspension [hoping the Subaru transparent concept is misleading] *2+2 seating, manual seat adjustments, fold-down rear seats *6 air bags; front, side, head curtain. *projector halogen headlights w/LED tails and marker lights *17" alloy wheels *nice black or silver/black 2-tone cloth upholstery [no zippers] *6-speaker stereo w/ single CD, bluetooth [simple phone answer/hang-up button], analog aux-in, and USB input w/iPod control *leather wrapped steering wheel w/audio buttons & tilt/telescoping $24,995. |
Hey Ryephile, now my opinion is not based just on me owning a Scion tC, I keep a close eye on all new cars & older ones cuz I work for a dealer. I drive every make & model that has come to the US. I also on my spare time compare vehicles otions & pricing.
1. Scion has Special Edition Realease Series with more add ons for a little exta. So realistically the bolt ons can be included cuz it really doesn't cost them much. 2. I say trunk verse hatch. I have a hatch on my tC its great but annoying as well. Rattles here & there even after they took care of the TSB. 3. A sunroof would be ok in my eyes if they added it. Or there should be an option for it. Which most likely Scion will throw it on anyway cuz its standard on the tC. I like ur version of the model, except its a tC w a few add ons. I think people are gonna think twice if its just the things u specified. For the reason being you can get a 2.0T Genius R-Spec with a few gadgets for around $25K than if the FR-S came with just that. I personally would just look for an old Skyline or Silvia for that price. They need to make it have a lil more options included than the tC, just cuz its gonna be RWD shouldn't have to bring the price up to that. |

it probably rattles because you have a cheap scion lol. I've driven in some 370zs and they dont rattle at all. I think this scion will be a higher standard than their current line of cars. |
