Byron's 13 BRZ DD Build Thread

5 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, been lurking on the site forever for useful info on maintenance/upgrades but finally diving in and becoming a member. As my first post I thought I'd share my 86 build which is nothing special (except to me). Very casual changes made to the car, no power adders or anything like that. I use the car as my daily and intend to do so for as long as I can keep her up. I've owned my BRZ Limited since August of 2012 so I've run into my fair share of first year problems, some of which I'm still sorting out. Regardless, I love the car and am very happy with her. Current mods on the car are:

Technical:
Whiteline Positive Shift Kit
Mtech Shift Springs
Clutch helper spring delete
Berk Muffler Delete
Zeta Intake Tube
B01C firmware flash (from tactrix)
08 WRX Sway Bar
Velox Cam Plate
Radium Brake Master Cylinder Brace

Consummables:
HKS Drop-In Air Filter
Sumitomo HTR-Z III Tires
Motul Gear 300 in tranny
Amsoil in diff

Aesthetic:
MT Fathead Shift Knob
Perrin Drift Turn Knob
Yellow fog light vinyl wrap
Yellow LED fog light bulbs
Shorty eBay antenna
OEM wheels dipped
B2 Wheel Spacers (20/25)
Subaru valve stem caps
Custom HU splash screen
JDM black interior trim pieces

I'll start with day one and carry forward with the story through pictures I've taken over the last five years.

Nothing particularly special about this day, but she got to sit next to my fiance's new Forester

First Tire Rotation

1 Attachment(s)
This day was her first tire rotation. I was extremely nervous the first time jacking her up and probably spent about 5X as long as was necessary to ensure the jack stands were perfectly positioned before letting her down gently. Very nerve wracking day but built up the skill and confidence to get her up in the air.

Dusk Shots

3 Attachment(s)
Not sure when this was exactly but apparently sometime around xmas 2012 and I wanted to capture some grimey dusk shots.

Sound Generator Delete

1 Attachment(s)
One of my first "mods", I followed another member's tutorial and used some Home Depot/Lowe's hardware to rid myself of the growly tube.

A little front fender shot from one of my favorite Bay Area spots: Marciel Gate on Redwood Road.

Moved!

1 Attachment(s)
One of the first shots I took of my car after moving to AZ. Found a twin to park with :party0030: (dunno if they were happy a fellow enthusiast was helping to protect their car or if I was an annoying "you parked next to me with all these spaces?!?" guy)

Yellowed the Fogs

Basically my first aesthetic mod, I wrapped the fog lights with yellow vinyl and popped in some yellow LEDs.

Zeta Tube

2 Attachment(s)
I eventually replaced the intake tube with the Zeta bc it was cheap af and I figured why not.

Sidemarkers

1 Attachment(s)
Replaced the ugly stock sidemarkers with smoked led ones and used a liberal amount of RTV in an attempt to keep them from getting water logged. I don't live in an area where it rains a ton but I've yet to have a single issue with moisture

Radar Detector

1 Attachment(s)
I bought a chintzy Cobra radar detector and you know what? It does actually do something! Lol. It's no Escort but I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a little extra situational awareness and doesn't have the $ to drop on a quality unit yet.

Subaru Club

For about a semester there we had a little Subie club that would park in the farthest spaces of the farthest lot. Good times.
