Will midpipe from Spec-D Tuning exhaust work on a Megan Racing OE-RS exhaust?

So this is the item I want to buy:

http://www.meganracing.com/products/...roduct_id=1705

Here is the midpipe that is required for it:

https://www.carid.com/2013-scion-fr-...760977947.html

I purchased this Spec-D Tuning catback with midpipe, and I want to know if it will work with installation of the Megan Racing catback

https://www.carid.com/spec-d/cat-bac...frs12t-sd.html

Thanks

WANTED INSTALLATION: MR-CBS-SFR12-SRT-R

CURRENT INSTALLATION: MFCAT2-FRS12T-SD

PART UNKNOWN [IF REQUIRED]: MR-CBS-SFR12-M

The only thing I see about the midpipe from photo's is that it requires to be turned 180 degrees otherwise it looks the same. If someone has experience with this, would greatly help and save me a lot of money.

If you're buying the first item (the Megan catback) it'll come with a midpipe. Not sure where why you would need to purchase an extra midpipe.

The first photo is to show what their product is.

I am actually intending to buy just the exhaust, without a midpipe to save myself some cash.

You might want to be safe and just sell your Spec-D midpipe and get the new one. I dont think you're going to be able to make that work tbh

Of course the Spec D midpipe won't work. Are you kidding me? They're entirely different exhaust designs.

This has to be a troll post.

Edit: however, just that axle back may work with the stock mid pipe.

Not going to work. The location where the midpipe and muffler meet is different between the two systems.

I think we are all a bit confused.

I am ordering the Megan Racing catback system, it comes with the exhaust and the little N tube which will connect the exhaust to midpipe.

But the midpipe's both look the same. That is all I want to know, they got the same diamater and what not. So I think they should work...

yes all Catbacks come with the "midpipe" so why would you want to use the Spec D midpipe?

If I am asking this question, wouldn't that mean I have the option to purchase this catback with and without a midpipe? and obviously with a reasonable price difference lol...

Come on man.

Honestly, no it doesn't mean that. No one buys a catback system just to piece it with other pipes it defeats the purpose. Everyone buys the whole unit and uses those parts. This is exactly why people are telling you to sell your Spec-D or thinking you're trolling because no one goes about doing it this way.

No, I think the only confused person is you.

There is ABSOLUTELY no way on God's green earth that the Spec D and the Megan will play nicely together.

Get out your magnifying glass, and take a closer look at the two midpipes. They are 100% DIFFERENT designs. Sure, they both bolt onto the factory front pipe, but that's where the similarities end.

I guess this is why people say common sense ain't too common.

Cole 01-09-2018 04:07 PM

Oh lord. I just finally realized what the hell you're talking about.

The little "S" bend from the Megan will still NOT WORK with the Spec D piping. Again, as @Vital mentioned, there's a reason people don't smash different cat back designs together, and there's a reason that cat backs are sold as complete units.

Common sense is saving money. That's the name of the game. Just thought I'd point that out.

But thanks for all your replies.

Vital 01-09-2018 06:11 PM

Ok if you wanna use common sense do yourself a favor and just buy an Axleback and use it with the stock midpipe that way theres no guessing involved. Axlebacks are cheaper than catbacks too
