Do any of you 2017 owners use a backfire tune?
 

Me and my friend who both own a 2017 86 tried to use a backfire tune for fun and there was no change. Following on the original thread and different youtube tutorials we still couldn't get it working but we were wondering if anyone else was having trouble? Trying to see why it won't work.

Do you have stock exhaust?

with cats and/or the stock muffler you won't get any pops or bangs.

Will this not degrade the life-span of the valves?

Yeah theres gonna be a ridiculous amount of build up after like a year.

The short answer is that the 2017 definitions have been updated and ROMRaider no longer plays nice with the backfire.

It hasn't happened yet. there are a handful of people with this tune tweak who have had it for 2+ years. No damage or harm yet.
