EcuTek Base maps?

Hi guys, first off let me start by saying I am brand new to EcuTek and its software and have some very beginner questions. Try to go easy on me!

I recently purchased an EcuTek cable and license, I am just going to be researching for a while before I start any real modifications. I was able to pull and RomDump just fine, but from what I have been able to find in the documentation, the next steps are unclear to me.

I am not going to be doing any flashing soon but want to make sure I have my understanding of the EcuTek system in order. Couple questions if anyone could chime in that would be awesome. From what I understand now...
  • The RomDump does not have anything to do with my tuning efforts and is only intended for EcuTek HQ development..?
  • How do I locate, create or get a copy of my stock rom for my car to use as a backup?

If i missed this somewhere in the documentation please feel free to point out where I can go read up more on this portion, not asking for you all to spell it all out for me.

Thanks guys.

Ecutek doesn't provide any base maps or tunes, just stock maps..

rom dump is only usefull to ecutek and only needed if you have unknown rom id

What you need to do is a 'query ECU" and find your ecu calibration id something like ZA1JK00C. if you 2017 manual brz.

You should then be able to find that rom in the suppled ProEcu rom files.

you can then open this rom and see and edit tables or add the racerom patch to add basic features like launch flat foot shift. auto blip.

then flash rom to car.

their are some help files as well supplied
