The SmartyCam turns on when the AiM turns on automatically, but when I have to start the AiM manually, the SmartyCam does not turn on automatically, I have to press the power button.

Yesterday the AiM worked for the first two hpde sessions, then it shut off in the middle of the third session and the SmartyCam stayed on.

Very frustrated with the setup.

Have you been able to correct the issue?

I moved the Nanny OBD extension cable away from my right leg and it seemed to help, maybe I was rubbing against the cable during track sessions. Still, the auto on/off function is not working as it should. After shutting the car off, the Solo stays powered all the time, like an hour later you get back to your car for another session and the damn Solo screen is on.

I have the same issue. You need to zip tie the connector to the OBD port. THEN I also pull the wire towards me and make sure the line is tight then tape it on the side (pastic) up a bit before routing it back down around the gear and to the Smarty Cam.

I'm going to have to get one. Just wish I could log oil pressure. Also not thrilled with the reports of how buggy it can be.

I was looking at the user manual and under the display settings (page 24) it has a screen shot of a OILP (oil pressure) being displayed in BAR.

Can someone tell me how to put this thing in predictive mode!?

ka-t_240 11-20-2018 12:02 AM

Anyone having battery issues? I can leave home with mine fully charged. Get to track(the one a 6 hour drive) and it was already sub 80% with being off the whole time. Unit was dead after 2 -3 sessions.

Or should I expect to just have to leave it on a charger 24/7

You have to configure and enable screens in Race Studio 3.

Same here. Have to charge it between sessions. I think I PREFER the Solo1. This is crap. All it did was add colors.

Have you updated the firmware recently? I think one of the updates was to help improve the battery life.

Not sure if it worked though, if mine's in the car it's plugged into the OBD2 port which powers it.

It sounds like there are a bunch of issues with the 2DL. Should I just go for an original version, or are these just pending code fixes that haven't rolled out yet?

I prefer the solo 1 too at this point. The few added features of the Solo 2 is not worth the hassle of not beign able to do ANYTHING without a computer.

They're updates that need to eventually roll out.

FWIW, the Solo 1 was a total shitshow for years when it first came out.

It seems to, after updating mine, it sat for a long time without totally killing the battery.
