Whats your Bucket List (Car Washing) ?
 

So at some point i actually find it fun washing my own car and eventually realize how much money it can add up to by paying someone to hand wash your own car.. Now i would love to know for those who enjoys the same thing what is in your bucket list? I mean what do you guys recommend to use when properly washing our cars to avoid scratching the paint.. What scrub? Soap? drying cloth etc to use? All of this would really help and be highly appreciated.. Thanks in advance!

i use Meguiar's wax and soap they always have good products.. stick with micro fiber towels.. and drying cloths. and do not i say do not use windex pls

Anyone here invest in a foam lance that can recommend one? I was depating just getting a "foamer" for the garden hose but I think one to attach to my pressure washer might be better?

gotta be careful and do your homework to make sure your PW will work properly with a foam lance. you need to know what type of fittings it uses

if it relies on quick connects, maybe check out the MTM foamer. I just ordered one as I had read some good reviews. Much cheaper than the 'foam cannon' sold on some sites


must haves for washing: 2 buckets, grit guards, micro chenille mitt, waffle weave MF towel for drying, small electric leaf blower (only for drying cars - not yard work), optimum no rinse for rinseless washing and 1 conventional car wash soap for conventional washes. I prefer chemical guys citrus wash daily.

also a wide variety of microfiber towels. I have towels specifically for cleaning interiors, wheels, glass, drying paint, removing wax, quick detailers. Plus MF applicators, MF wash mitts. Before you know it you realize you might have a 'thing' for microfiber

Right on. I use Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo/conditioner, and use a waffle-weave towel for drying off the paint. If I've got time and good weather, I can spend a weekend with Meguiar's 3-step (cleaner/polish/wax). Time consuming, but good zone-out time. I apply those with a stack of cut-up cotton T-shirts and socks.

The MOST important part of your wash procedure is the pre rinse. It doesn't matter what soap, mitts, drying towels etc that you are are using if you don't get the loose debris off your car before you wash. That grit is what is causing the bulk of the nasty swirls in your paint. Grit guards, a quality mitt and towels help for sure, but investing in a small pressure washer and pre rinsing your car really well will pay huge dividends in the long run.
