I'm interested to see how other people have made use of the rear speaker area, I still haven't found a subwoofer install. This is what I fab'd up for my rear speakers. I have another set up front too. They are almost like little subs, I am powering them with a huge 4 channel hifonics amp.

I don't have any photos of mine handy, but I have some infinity 3002cfx in the stock bracket with some sound deadening. stock front façade.
I have considered upgrading that area, but never gotten around to it.
also have considered replacing the Infinitys with something like a Dayton RS-100-4, but also have not gotten around to that either.

Nice, yea I closed off the "cavity" with half inch MDF, which functions as the baffle the speakers are mounted to and creates a sort of enclosure. I sound treated the inside with dynamat, sealed it as best I could with expanding foam, and used some sound spray and bed liner spray to finish it out. Would usually be Overkill for a 6.5 but these are loud enough to act as midbass subs. It actually came out sounding even better than I had hoped. I also have another set up front.

These woofers look very solid and pretty heavy. Can you post more installation pictures pls.. like how are these held in place.. there is probably some sort of internal podium inside under the trim, etc.. thanks

Here us a sub in the same location. Sealed box 9 litres (not mine)

I only swapped in basic Alpine SPS-410 speakers with Dynamat in the cavity and on the panel. But holy hell does it rattle a lot now with volume.

Haven't checked yet if it's the speaker against the panel grill that needs to be trimmed or something else to be secured.

Nice! I haven't seen that, the area has tons of creative potential. Thanks for linking that pic.

This post is best left blank, as it's my best option. No rear speakers

But what do you do when you're watching a movie on your headunit and want surround sound? :D

I have eliminated my rear speakers as well and have opted for sound quality via a four-way network setup over visual entertainment........with the exception of what I see out the windshield.

i did that once. 15 years ago. went so far as to buy a car specifically with a center dash speaker to make for the most complete 5.1 setup.

then i came to my senses and realized that i'd rather watch a movie on a couch, with good food and a good wine.
