Subaru brz limited wrecked door need help!

Ok so i purchased a wrecked subaru brz limited with the keyless entry the door is damaged beyond repair and i am looking for a new door. If i buy another door with the touch sensor is it as simple as swapping out my old door handle on the new door? Also can a non brz limited or scion frs door work?

the sensor is exactly that, just a touch sensor. The lock/unlock goes with the programmed key and has nothing to do with the sensor itself. You can test this out by washing the car, sometimes the door will randomly lock/unlock just with water on the handles.

All the doors are the same shape.

So i can use the same touch sensor that's on the new door I purchase? No need to swap out my old door handle? I know the frs and brz have the same door my question is since i have a brz limited which has the touch sensors i cant just buy any frs or brz door right?

Yes. The door itself is physically the same.

But will a standard door have the same hookup for the touch sensor that the brz limited has

You should be able to remove the wiring from the bent door and move it to the new door.
Yeah. A door without the sensor won't be the same. I don't have proximity sensors.

Specific sensors are all the same. The lock and unlock logic happens in the Body Control Unit.
The sensors only report what they see. Not if it matches.

There should be notation in used parts listings if there is a proximity sensor included or not.
If there isn't, find another that does.

So if i source another brz limited door i can just plug it in to my car and not have to worry about any wiring or removing door handle? I understand the physical key will be different

You can get the lock body moved from one door to the other if it's not wrecked too.
That would be the first move.
Lock tumblers can be changed by a competent locksmith using the old unit even if it is broke.
The internal elements will still have the same dimensions.
If you take the lock bodies out and bring them to the lock shop you'll save a call out fee too.

Ok gotcha thanks a lot now to find that door lol not going to be easy

Get your bent door wiring out and test it for continuity.
If you can flex it around without electrons falling out you should be able to re-use it in any old replacement door.
The doors are all the same. The wiring and locks are the only things that change.

I cut the plugs to get them free from the car they wouldn't come out without cutting

I know but it was nearly impossible to remove the connectors because the hole was damaged by the accident. Btw if anybody here has a door and driver seat for a brz limited im looking to buy them
