Clutch spring delete problems
I did a clutch spring delete well over a year ago haven't had any issues, heard a strange noise from my clutch pedal the other day(was about 28F) just curious if anyone has experienced any actual issues concerning the clutch spring delete in the long term
2016 frs roughly 35k miles |
I haven’t had any issues and I had my clutch spring deleted for about 30k miles. I have a squeaky clutch only when it’s cold but that’s because cold.. or my clutch fork or TOB need lubrication.
Besides that, did you do a clutch adjustment after you took the spring out? Or just took the spring out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I've had a similar issue. I recommend greasing the clutch fork. Greasing the lower pivot in the bellhousing is a pain, but the upper part where the slave cylinder pin engages is easy to get to and makes a noticeable improvement in clutch pedal smoothness and quietness.

Clutch spring has zero effect on anything relating to the clutch system.

Would a little white lithium grease spray do the job? |

However, if I weren't so lazy, I'd follow these instructions from ol @Ultramaroon. Quick & dirty: from @Ultramaroon 1. Detach the slave cylinder. Leave the hydraulics alone. 2. Remove the dust boot from the fork. 3. Reach down behind the fork with a finger and feel for the pivot. It's going to be tight because of the retaining clip. 4. Squeeze a decent glob of Lucas Red & Tacky #2 in there with your finger. 5. Jiggle the fork to distribute the grease as much as possible. It'll work in more on its own. 6. Put a dab of grease in the top pivot where the slave pin goes. 7. Reassemble. |
