Pricing is out folks!

Please understand that the tracks have hiked up the prices for track rentals considerably over last year and that is the ONLY reason why the prices have gone up from last year.

The OTA Organizing committee (of which I am part of) has taken a lot of work scouting out other organizations, schools and associations and made sure the costs remain great for competitors and lappers.

Hope to see more twins out this year!

Cheers.

So the first Ontario Time Attack event is done and in the books! Results have been finalized and being published as I write this.

In the mean time, here's my GT3 class winning lap from the event!

FYI: I am unclean. Flubbed away time near the end. #asiandadisdisappointed

In case anyone is wondering, my mods are as follows:

- Spoon offset ball joints + custom alignment (1 PIP)
- Spoon engine mounts (0 PIP)
- Spoon subframe rigid collars (0 PIP)
- Radium Engineering catch cans (0 PIP)
- Evasive Motorsports Oil Baffles (0 PIP)
- Front Sway Bar from a 2000 S2000 (0 PIP due to same handling index score)
- 255/40/17 square on RE71Rs (because RS4s couldn't get to me in time - derp)

No events being run at the Grand Bend track this year?

I thought I heard they had the most reasonable rental rates - plus the beach!

We haven't done GB in a while - most people considered it to be too far for them and when we did do it, it had a HUGE drop off in terms of who showed up.

Even Shannonville sees a drop off and that track, to some degree, is more fun.

I wonder if putting together packages with a local resort would help? Could be a great way to make the 'other half' happy on race weekends. If there are other things to do, maybe it wouldn't feel so far? But I get what you're saying. Sounds like most ppl are coming from the Toronto area.

The problem with Mosport & Shannonville is it's "too far" for the London/Sarnia/Windsor area guys.

As for resorts in the Grand Bend area, Oakwood is secluded, pretty reasonable price-wise and has plenty of places race cars/trailers could be parked. Swimming pool, spa, a HUGE new estate winery 10 min away and a private beach a 3 minute walk away could be attractive for those with spouses who want to join. Plus the food there is really good.

It's not just the distance, with the speed capability of some of the cars there is only 1 or 2 configurations that can be run and they're not the most exciting ones.

I will gladly take SMP over GB for this reason. Sure I am biased because I am out of the east end of Toronto but SMP has so many sweet sweet corners that truly rewards you to be patient.
