2018 BRZ tS - The Thread for Potential Owners

Subaru has announced that the 2018 BRZ tS will officially be available in April. However, most tS units have already been distributed through Subaru’s Retailer Network. Most dealerships will already know what color and how many units they are receiving, which means potential buyers can start searching around for one prior to their arrival in April.

This thread is for people to share their experiences while waiting for the first deliveries of the tS! What color will you be getting, and are you new to the platform or will it be your first twin?

BRZ tS MSRP is $34,355 (incl. Destination, +$150 for Alaska)

Earliest Deliveries are estimated to be around the last week of February

Hi, been lurking on here researching parts and keeping up to date with the 18' model. I graduated in May and have been wanting a new car for a while. Once I heard about the tS I started saving. I convinced my mother to buy a FR-S in 2013, so I am fairly familiar with the platform. I contacted a local dealer months ago saying I would be interested in a tS and they recently informed me that they have ordered a WRB. Now just waiting for the price and date announcement. Hopefully it's no more than $35k.

Awesome! Yes, people who have expressed interest in the tS should be hearing from their dealerships rather soon! :happyanim:

I am also interested in the Crystal White Pearl, and this will be my 2nd twin.

It will be replacing my current automatic BRZ now that my girlfriend and I share a 2nd daily driver. I expressed an interest at my local dealership months ago, but I need to remind them how serious I am when I get my next service.

yurikaze 12-05-2017 06:21 PM

This'll be my first twin (yes, I've been lurking on here for six years without a twin). I do own an AE86, however.
I've been trying to put a deposit on one since June to no avail.
I'm leaning towards blue, but down for any of the three colors.
However, based upon what may be revealed about the 86 GT, I may just go with an '18 86 GT with PP if it's offered, and load it up with the entire TRD aero kit; and not have to deal with trying to fight others for the 500 car allocation, or the insane markups that are due to happen.

I've actually started accumulating 86-twin parts already.

I’m trying to get a WRB one

Agree. I wouldn't mind a Black tS, but I don't want to go through the headache of trying to find one in Central Ohio or trying to secure a deposit on one in Chicago. A red/black/white 86 will be easier for me.

NCtoBRZ 12-05-2017 08:14 PM

That wing :barf: I’d much sooner buy a PP BRZ than pay $35k+ for what amounts to a modified suspension and a huge park bench wing. Subaru knows what they are doing though... make something a special edition and people will rush to order with money in hand.

found that one too on my hunt for this new revised wing...
definitely looks the same with just different endplates, you are now tasked with finding the SKU for the endplates... unless they dont sell them separately? i guess we'll find out soon

if i cant find it and order one i might just have to settle for a voltex

Me like those wheels. Are they the same STI wheels that you can buy on Subaru's website?

Adam_L 12-05-2017 10:48 PM

the wheels look like the TRD version on the RS2 FRS ( 15 spoke) . Any confirmation they are the same?

Fairly sure they aren't (if you mean SoA) since the Brembo brakes didn't fit the USDM STI wheels, as far as I Know.

They are being marketed as the same wheels, just 18"x7.5"

Awesome, finally got the close-up on the Gauges, showing the little STI logo on the speedometer.

Also based on the internal Specs, the tS will also have a different Welcome screen with the STI logo showing up on the little 4.2 inch display.

Another random fun fact is that the TCS/VSC modes are “STI-tuned”

Veloist 12-06-2017 08:56 PM

Oh yeah by the way, these came in today.

Definitely interested, but need to sell off one of the cars first. Winter is a bad time to sell a car privately and I don't think any of the dealers will offer me much as a trade-in, that is if they even want it.

WRB would be my choice of colour. The red accents on the exterior and red on seats remind me of the GC8 with version 4 seats.

Nice! I was thinking of getting custom plates with my production number (ex: TS 421). Will you be able to pull a similar master list to your Series Yellow one once production has completed?

airjonny 12-06-2017 10:31 PM

I'd like to get that red knob

You bet I will! But I only start it after most of them are sold. So probably around this time of the year next year

Side 12-07-2017 12:12 AM

Called my local dealership tonight and spoke with one of the sales managers that I've worked with before. They have zero BRZs in their January allocation, but wants me to come in on my next day off to check their partner network. We'll see what happens!

jbsali 12-08-2017 03:00 AM

any word on pricing?

Veloist 12-13-2017 07:37 PM

Awesome! I also put one under my name today.

Crystal White Pearl, added STI Short-Throw Shifter, Rear Cargo Tray, and Rear Bumper Diffuser!

If anyone buys a CWP Ts and wants to do a trunk swap to get rid of that wing let me know and I'll gladly help ;)

Veloist 12-14-2017 01:36 PM

Ahh so confusing. Subaru officially announced the pricing of the BRZ tS at $34,355 including destination.

However, they noted the deliveries should start late January, early February. Possibly wrong since these cars have an April Allocation but I guess we'll just have to see :iono:

botbs 12-14-2017 01:55 PM

https://www.pr.subaru.ca/WebPage.asp...ArticleID=9600

The Subaru BRZ tS will be available in World Rally Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica and Crystal White Pearl exterior colours when it hits dealerships early in the new year. It will carry an MSRP of $37,395 CAD.

Limited to 100 in Canada

Where are you seeing that they said late January / early February?

In my dealer newsletter. Like I said, it's possibly a mistake. If the cars were arriving late January, then we should have VINs by the end of the month or first week of January.

Edit: Pricing is Public now

SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING ON LIMITED EDITION 2018 WRX STI TYPE RA® AND BRZ TS®

Limited Edition of 500 of each model
Suspension tuned by STI®
Exclusive Cherry Blossom Red accents
Carbon fiber rear spoiler
Three color options
WRX STI Type RA offers increased performance through weight reduction and engine upgrades
BRZ tS receives Michelin Pilot® Sport tires on 18-inch wheels
Subaru of America, Inc. announced pricing on the 2018 WRX STI Type RA and 2018 BRZ tS. Both are performance-focused derivatives enhanced by Subaru Tecnica International (STI) for driving enthusiasts. Sales are limited to 500 of each model and vehicles will arrive at Subaru retailers in spring 2018.

BRZ tS
The 2018 BRZ tS (tuned by STI) gives the purist sports car its most agile handling ever. This special performance variant, which will be limited to 500 units, is offered at $33,495.

The BRZ tS takes full advantage of its light weight, ultra-low center of gravity and precision handling, adding quicker response to driver input, better control and increased stability. The upgrade adds STI-tuned front and rear SACHS® dampers and coil springs as well as an STI flexible V-brace in the engine compartment. New draw stiffeners are added to the chassis and sub-frame to improve steering response.

For the first time, BRZ is equipped with 18-inch wheels. The BRZ tS is fitted with lightweight STI wheels that are mounted with 215/40 R 18 Michelin Pilot Sport tires for superior grip and quicker turn-in. A high-performance braking system, using Brembo rotors, 4-piston front calipers and 2-piston rear calipers, enhances stopping power, fade resistance and pedal feel.

The BRZ tS exterior also adds a more aggressive look with an exclusive STI carbon fiber rear spoiler, which is manually adjustable to fine-tune rear downforce for track driving. The addition of STI front, rear and side underspoilers helps control airflow for better traction and stability. The tS will also be available in WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica and Crystal White Pearl.

The BRZ tS is adorned with the exclusive Cherry Blossom Red accent around the front grille and unique rear bumper cover. The official tS badge in chrome and red is displayed on the front grille and rear hatch. The exterior foldable mirrors, roof-mounted shark fin antenna, BRZ and SUBARU badging all have a black finish. The fog lights have been removed and replaced with unique fog light covers.

The cabin features black leather and Alcantara® upholstery with contrasting red stitching and accents throughout the interior including steering wheel; door and dash panels; knee pads; shifter and emergency brake boots; and visor over the gauge cluster. The front seats have red leather bolsters and the seatbacks are embroidered with the tS logo. The center console has been updated to a cast black finish. The BRZ tS also comes standard with red front seat belts and a frameless interior rearview mirror.

The 2018 tS receives the latest generation SUBARU STARLINK 7.0" Multimedia Navigation system as standard, featuring a 7-inch high resolution touch screen with intuitive, high quality maps powered by TomTom®. This top of the line system offers voice activated controls and navigation; smartphone integration with Android™ Auto and Apple CarPlay™, Aha™ and Pandora®; and Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity with audio streaming. Also included is SiriusXM All-Access Radio along with SiriusXM Traffic® and Travel Link (subscription required).

A standard 4.2-in LCD multi-function display positioned next to the tachometer can show vehicle performance data including lateral Gs, accelerator pedal position, braking force, steering angle, oil and coolant temperature, and battery voltage as well as an integrated stop watch for recording lap times.

trippinbillies40 12-14-2017 07:56 PM

Plan on April. This is why I questioned the pricing yesterday. :)

yurikaze 12-14-2017 09:50 PM

Thanks Veloist,
the dealership I have my deposit with quoted me at msrp, but they msrp they gave me is $1300 over the one Subaru released. I contacted them asking to correct it, hopefully I hear back. If not, I may cancel the order and order an 86 since I can get a hookup through a Toyota dealer I know.

That sounds about right because MSRP is $33495 + $860 Destination and then there are different accessories that the car will have.

Average MSRP with destination and accessory groups are around $34.9k for the tS.

Poodles 12-15-2017 04:29 AM

Ugh, too expensive for me :(

yurikaze 12-15-2017 07:22 PM

Do we have any idea what the color split percentage is going to be?
