That changed when I found out about the ships. They have been a strong interest of mine since I was about 9 years old and getting to tour some is a geeky dream to me. Be the same as if some of the guys here got to pick any car and track in the word that they could run some laps or spending a day in their favorite anime studio watching them be made.

I'm here to help. And I didn't even mention Mare Island, which you may want to cruise through on your way back up to Sacramento.

The O'Brien was actually in dry dock at Mare not long ago getting some maintenance. Here's a 360 panorama of the dry dock area:

Nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't mind touring the Hornet.

Excellent. Gives me somebody to walk with after Ultra becomes enthralled with one particular engine or contraption for an hour. Right @bcj ?

Ya, we will need to get suggestions for a specific place from the locals.

Got to admit, that huge radial engine cutaway, with a button to make it go...
Mesmerizing.

Well, the Hornet, pinball museum and tiki bar that were mentioned are in Alameda. There's also a ton of bars down Park and Webster and places to eat.
